Anyone struggling to remain on their left side for sleeping? I have a Snoogle which I am so thankful for but my hip starts to hurt if I stay on just the left side. I also wake up on my back sometimes. Ahhh! Pregnancy sleeping positions are not fun!
I can't stay the entire night in the left I do have to switch to the right. I would say it's like 70% left side and 30% on the right through the night. :-/
I can't lay on my back. It makes my whole body ache. I lay on my left side with my body pillow and then in the middle of the night turn over and hold my hubby. Poor thing I prop my giant Buda belly on him. Lol
I find myself on my back all the time. I can't lay on my right side and sometimes on my left because it makes me sick, so I end up trying to sleep sitting up. But I eventually slide down and sleep on my back till it starts hurting. I know it's wrong but I move so much when I sleep I wake up on a mess of sheets. I have tried pillows but nothing helps and I can't afford a pregnancy pillow.
Just woke up from my left side throbbing. I HATE sleeping on my left side. My right side is perfect, but I try to go by the book and remain on the left. If I absolutely can't, I'll basically sit up and sleep.. it's ridiculous. I get so mad in the middle of the night lol
I try to lay on my left side as much as possible with my body pillow between my legs but to be honest I'm a wild sleeper and frequently wake up rolled over to some weird position I get myself into. Obviously my belly prohibits most of my movement from being totally goofy right now but I still wake up on my back sometimes (ow does that hurt my back!) and I wake up on my ride side a lot too.

I read in another thread that right side sleeping is fine and helps circulation to digestion...so helps keep you regular... So, may prevent hemorroids. I probably sleep 1/3 on my right side and go like clockwork (tmi).
I'm the other way. The baby insists on hanging out far on the right so when i lay down, i can feel that I'm nearly squishing him, and he often complains (kicks or turns). They should invent some sort of space/zero-gravity suspension system for the third trimester.
I switch sides all through the night but probably spend more time on my right side. LO is always on my left side, and I still lay somewhat on my tummy so sometimes I feel like I'm squishing her when I lay on my left side. Many nights I wake up every hour or two just to roll over. I get so excited when I look at the clock to see if I slept longer than two hours on either side! I miss sleeping through the night, but I guess that's not something I'll be doing again for a while, so I'd better just get used to it!
I have the same problems my hips kill me after a shirt period of time I can't find a comfortable position at all anymore. Toss and turn all night. Only about 2 months to go I keep telling myself
I sleep on both sides. I tend to sleep a little bit more on my left just because it's facing away from my H, who's loud breathing now bothers me! There's no way I could just sleep on one side throughout the night. I still wake up on my back occasionally but I don't worry too much unless I'm feeling faint. I can't wait to sleep on my belly again!
I usually start on my left and then roll to partway on my back partway on my Snoogle. Then when I inevitably get up to pee I switch to my right and hug the Snoogle. I miss sleeping on my back and stomach.
Me too, I can't wait to sleep on my back! Is it better to sleep on left side vs right side? I read that sleeping on left side is better but it's so uncomfortable after a while. My baby kicked like crazy when I sleep on right side, maybe he doesn't like?
I try so hard and still continue to wake up on my back a lot of nights. I always put myself back on my side but I'm so worried about how long I spend on my back!
I try to sleep on the left but often end up on my right. The last couple of weeks I've woken up in the night on my back which is odd as I've never been a back sleeper.
Just do your best!! You can't be 100% on your left all the time or you'll drive yourself crazy!
Ladies! Make a V and sleep between two pillows with both slightly under you. This takes the pressure off your hips...also pop two tyenol PM for any night time discomfort and to assist in sleeping. I ran by my.OB....totally safe...and you can take tyenol PM EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.
I was told by my doctor, midwife and acupuncturist that it's not a big deal if you sleep on your back. I end up sleeping on my back the majority of the time every night even though I fall asleep on my side.
I too talked to dr. about always waking up on my back. He said i would feel woozy and blood flow would stop, making me turn, way before anything bad would happen to me or my baby. And not to worry much about it. I go between my back and left side mostly and have slept pretty darn well besides the nightly pee ses
Re: Left side sleeping
At least I try... lol.

When i'm on my left side I always use my DH as my body pillow.
