so frustrated/vent

for the passed week my daughter 2 1/2 yrs of age has been waking up every night screaming to the point where I have to go in there and rock her to sleep or at least hold her until she is sleeping. Last night it happened 3X and my husband has the audacity to ask me to be quiet while he lays there and is sleeping...he does have work but really? All I wanted to say was F-off. I don't really know what to do anymore. I am 6M pregnant and just want to sleep.

Re: so frustrated/vent

  • I think that these are just phases. my daughter did the same thing for a short while. Hopefully it will pass. I understand your frustration completely.

  • Oh, I  know how you feel about that! The other night both my boys woke up, and I turned on the hall light to get them back situated in their bed. I hear DH hollering to shut off the light...I think I shouted "I KNOW"...but I really wanted to say something else but was too exhausted.

It's a phase, my boys still go through it at 4!
  • Aw man. I am sorry about the bad timing of the sleep regression thing and your hubs being a bit insensitive.

It is definitely a phase for that age. My 2 year old has been waking crying multiple times a night for about two weeks now. My 3.5 year old has been having bad dreams and yelling (sleep talking) at everyone in her dreams. Hubs sleeps through it all. Nothing wakes the man.

That on top of pregnancy related sleep issues suck big time.

  • I'd be more upset that he is being rude. Tell him to invest in some earplugs. This is nothing compared to two babies up.. His @$$ will have to help at that point.
  • I would have beat my husband's ass if he said that. We both work and both get up. We both made our son so we are both responsible for dealing with his midnight waking sessions
  • Yeah, hubby doesn't have a sensitivity chip installed in this case. I would bring it up during the daylight hours when tempers aren't so short and have a heart to heart. But after that I would demand some respect, damnit. After the talk, any other outbursts like the one mentioned above will receive the aforementioned eff you

  • my DD is 2.5 now as well and let me tell you these past couple of weeks have been sooo crazy! Temper tantrum out the butt about every little thing. I didn't let her walk up the steps by herself, because she refused to go up, and she cried for 40 minutes straight! We just dealt with a week of her waking up 3 times a night crying and calling for us...It started because she was sick. Maybe yours isnt feeling well or maybe having nightmares?

  • My DH would never ever say that! The situation calls for some empathy! Your DH sounds like an ass.
