DH is building a crib... But if it doesn't work out, we are using the Pack and Play. We have friends who used one for months instead of a crib. We are also not buying a changing table... Waste of money I think. Doing a dresser with changing pad on top.
We'll be getting a crib, pack and play, and a glider. We will use the p&p as a bassinet in our room for a few months. The glider will eventually be moved to the living room. Not Getting a changing table, I want storage cubes and I will put a changing pad on top. We will probably wait on a high chair for a few months as baby won't be needing it right away. Try to spread out the expenses a bit.
We will probably get a swing/ bouncer and a few other fun type things as well. Oh, and my SIL is going to give me her breast pump so luckily I don't have to buy one of those.

I hate to be the person who gives unsolicited advice... But please do some research before using someone else's pump... It doesn't matter if you buy all new tubes etc... It is extremely unsanitary for several reasons... Only hospital grade pumps can be reused due to the way they are made and properly sealed... Also insurance companies are required to assist in this department so you can look into that. Sorry if this was misplaced but I would really want someone to give me this sort of information due to the health and safety risks.
I did get a changing table, but its one that has drawers and will function as a dresser after LO grows. It will just be a dresser with little wooden rails on the top. I got a crib, and a pack n play which baby will sleep in for the first few months. I also registered for a swing for baby to nap in downstairs. I registered for a high chair, but that's only a bonus item as I know I will need one eventually, but not for a while yet. That's pretty much it for furniture items for me. Don't forget to put a mattress for your crib on there. I almost forgot it and my sister reminded me. Considering they can be near $100 its worth it to ask for one to be gifted.

Oh, that's definitely the plan to do some research but I do think this is safe, thanks for your concern though, I do appreciate it
I definitely hear you on using a dresser as a changing table or a multi functional changing table. Why are some of you not having your baby sleep in the crib right away? I feel so overwhelmed with the baby stuff more than with the baby itself lol
In the beginning I don't want to be going from one room to the next every other hour, and I don't want to move the crib from my room to ewok's room later. Using the pack n play for sleeping in initially was my sisters idea, she did it with her twins for about 2 months before transitioning them to cribs in their own room once their sleeping patterns became more concrete
