New Baby Kit for Older Kids

I have a Brother-In-Law who is 5. He has had a bit of a hard time with this pregnancy because he has been everyone's baby since the day he was born and he's afraid this baby is going to take all his attention. I've decided to put together an "Uncle Kit" for him to ease his mind at the hospital. Has anyone done this for older siblings, cousins, etc? I'm thinking about adding simple stuff like coloring books, disposable cameras, snacks, dollars for the vending machines, hot wheels. What else would be helpful to add?

    Not that it is for him, but my son is 5 as well and he is excited to go buy a gift for baby. You may want to try something like that too! Maybe a book too. My 5 year old is really into Thomas Trains, so that's an idea too.

    I agree with PP... Maybe take him to the store and have him pick a special gift for baby... It might get him excited about being an uncle. DS got excited about picking things out for his baby sister!

    That is my boys (4 yr old twins) favorite thing to do...they love picking stuff out for their baby sister. And oh my...their taste is frilly and girly to the max.

    I'm also planning on getting my sons a doll. Their preschool teacher told me that is what they play with during free time.

    My boys like the show Daniel Tiger and he just got a baby sister...I think it was a great way to introduce the concept of a new baby.

    Aww, this is a wonderful idea. Maybe also in addition to having him pick out items for his (niece? nephew?), have them be items that he knows how to work / use that he will need to show baby how to use? Hmm, but we're talking about items for the hospital... Maybe one of those leapfrogs?
    ETA - Lego's? But not too many or the nurses may be unhappy

    How about a shirt that says something about being an awesome uncle. You could get one custom with his name off of etsy.
