If you scroll down and use the search bar, we have several threads already dedicated to the topic of epidurals where you can likely find many of the answers to your questions. Good luck!
Due June 17th and I am not making any absolute decisions. I am going to keep an open mind and am trying to prepare to roll with it. If I don't feel the need for an epidural, then I won't get one, but if it hurts like hell, I'll get one.
Not sure why you are only soliciting answers from other women who share your due date but there are a lot of June moms here who are planning to skip an epi. I'm due June 4th (or June 2nd, depending on who you ask) and plan on going in with the mindset that I can and will do things without an epidural but I've made it clear to my husband that if I start requesting one, he is to immediately hunt someone down for me (none of this "but remember babe - you said you didn't want one" nonsense). I fully reserve the right to change my mind
I'm due June 20th and planning on taking things as far as I can naturally. I would prefer not to have an epidural. I don't have anything more to add than what's been said above other than "me too!"
I'm due June 20th and having a home birth so the plan is no epi or anything else. Can't tell you what to expect but I do recommend reading Active Birth. Wonderful info on the process including techniques for at the hospital.
I'm due June 16th. The 20th was my first due date then it changed. I never got a epidual before. I got to the hospital too late while I was having my son. It hurt but nothing us strong ladies can't handle.I'm scared of the epidural to be honest I can't imagine being numb. Or any other risk there are with getting that shot in the spine scares me. I may have to go natural again.
This will be my second home birth and third birth all together. No epi for me. If it's something you want to do because of convictions you will need to go in late to the hospital and be prepared for pain. I can say from my experience that the really bad pain only lasted through transition. Maybe an hour or an hour and a half. I was in a tub. Also grow in knowledge and read birth stories of moms going natural. It really helps. If you do it once the second time should be better... At least that's what I'm hoping for. Best wishes and good luck if you do go epi free.
