2 months away and can't decide on a name. Looking for opinions please.

My husband and I have narrowed it down to 2 names that him and I love.

1. Anabelle (Ana for short)

2. Ava

Anabelle seems to be the front runner and Ana is a family name so it has some meaning to it. The thing is that we have a very long last name, 4 syllables and 12 letters long, and I can't help but think of our baby having to write such a long name for the rest of her life. Maybe I'm overthinking it though.

We love the name Ava but it's so popular these days so that's the only thing that may hold us back from that one.

Which name do you like more?

Ava is too common for my taste. I like Anabelle, but calling her Ana just makes me think FROZEN!

We wouldn't pronounce it like Ana from frozen. It would be Ann-a not ahh-na

Annabelle for sure. She could go by Anna, Annie, Bellie, Ellie, Elle! It's a beautiful and surprisingly not too common (yet) name. Ava is a gorgeous name too but it is so very popular, and my personal preference is for names that can have nicknames, and Ava doesn't really offer many.

Long names aren't so bad. I grew up with a 9 letter first name and an 11 letter last name. She'll get used to it and probably go by a nickname anyways. I personally like Anabelle better. Just prettier in my opinion.

If your unsure but love the two names wait til the baby is born. We had two names for my son and when he came out we knew which one he was.

I prefer Ava.

I like Anabelle, but if you want the Ann-ah pronunciation then you should spell it Annabelle. Ana = Ah-nah.

I prefer Annabelle, mostly because I know so many baby Avas. But I agree with PP to wait until you meet her and see what feels right. My husband and I have 2 first choice names and a potential 3rd, but we're going to wait and see what suits her. (Also a great plan if you don't want to tell people in advance, they keep bugging me and I keep saying that we haven't decided!)
