Yogurt brands?

What brand of yogurt do you feed your LO? My MIL brought over some of the gerber yogurt, but I was hoping to start introducing regular yogurt or greek.

Re: Yogurt brands?

  • I get full fat plain yogurt. Either regular or Greek, depending in the store I'm at.

  • I do Greek Gods plain with a little fruit purée or fresh juice mixed in. I'm not positive if it's full fat...

  • Whatever has the best price that isn't just sugar.

  • I've been giving LO the Greek yogurt that I eat. Discovered awhile ago that the fat content is too low. But I'm going to continue with it anyway because he's done fine with it, and doesn't eat it every day.
  • I can't find any brands that have full fat. I've tried Walmart and target. Maybe a local supermarket will have some.
  • full fat I didn't even think to make sure it had that. Thank you!!

  • Why does it need to be full fat?
  • Is the gerber yogurt bad? I just grabbed it quickly the other day at the grocery store and didn't even look at ingredients. We have to give LO this allergy medicine daily and we mix it with puréed food, and I grabbed that to use the next several days. Maybe I should do an ingredient check!

I was wondering the same thing. Is it just better for them, or does low fat actually cause harm?

  • If they fill up on low fat foods they will not eat enough calories and fats. They need more good fats for brain and physical development. The low fat doesn't directly hurt them, but it can lead to too few nutrients

  • Brown Cow and Stonyfield have full fat, as does the Fage that just says "Fage Total" without the 2% or 0% after.
  • I have had trouble finding the full fat as well! Or even just plain!

  • Full fat is best, but if I don't have any on hand I give DD regular Chobani. She loves any yogurt!

Thank you!! Im glad someone finally explained! So in a pinch regular is alright, but full fat is preferable and now I know why.

  • LO hates the gerber yogurt. Looking to get something different this weekend. FULL fat of course!
