Swelling is normal, especially in your extremities. Depending on how severe the swelling is, I would call my midwife/OB just to check. I know my midwife told me they are more concerned about upper body swelling the legs, feet and ankles (which is what I am currently dealing with). It never hurts to call and check. The worst they will tell you is that it is normal and to drink more water
This has been happening to me (I can't wear my rings anymore), and the obstetrics nurse asked me to monitor my blood pressure daily at the pharmacy between doctor's appointments, to drink water, try to move as much as possible and not eat too much salt.
I've had the same issue with swelling. I called my doctor and she ran a few blood tests and asked that I monitor blood pressure/heart rate. Everything is within normal range and I sleep better at night not wondering. Give your ob a call! They are getting paid a lot to take care of you right now. Use them.
Go to the pharmacy and check your bp. If it's high, call your doctor. Swelling is normal at this point. They're more concerned about sudden swelling of the hands and face which is an indication of pre eclampsia.
I've had elevated bps for a few weeks now and elevated heart rates but my doctors and nurses have told me it's it high enough to concern them.
Re: should i be concerned. ..?
You only need to be concerned when you have an elevated blood pressure, and protein in your urine.
I hope all goes well with you:)
