Today I have cleaned the carpets and folded clothes. ***Warning: The next part mentions death and is depressing downer*** I'm going to my friend's visitation tonight I think. She passed way last Thursday while giving birth to her first child after battling IF for years. Sorry to be a downer on Monday morning. Her son is in NICU and fighting hard. Her funeral is tomorrow. Both her and I shared a big phobia of death, funerals and all things that go along with it. We actually discussed once when we were old and gray and one of us passed way that we would understand if the other didn't attend any of it. I never thought that this would happen this soon. I'm struggling so hard with whether or not to go. I like to think of people ad they were here on earth. So after that long ramble, I may go to the visitation and funeral and I may not be able to handle it. I know she (and her husband) would understand but I'm not sure others would. I don't want anyone to think I'm being selfish. So with that sadness aside, Wednesday is cheer and tumbling and Thursday is dance. Friday I will be at my DD's school for PTA stuff. We don't really have any plans so far for the weekend. So this week aside from today and tomorrow are pretty normal. I'll also do the normal housework. So that's my week in a nutshell!

  • @iloveshanej  How horrible, I am so so sorry for your loss.  IMO you should do what you think your friend would want you to, but I do think that funerals and wakes bring some closure.  I would say skip the wake if you aren't up to it but go to the funeral if you can manage it.  ((HUGS))  I'll be praying for the baby, her family and your family.

I have a super busy week with a side job I've been asked to do.  One of my professors asked me to help out on this big project and it's going to take a lot of time but it's something that I am super excited about and honored to be asked to be a part of!

I'm also going to take some time for myself this week!  Maybe treat myself to a pedicure!

@iloveshanej I'm so sorry about your friend. Big HUGS to you and prayers for her son and husband. I agree you need to do what's best for you. Personally I need the closure of seeing someone who has passed. One time I didn't because I wanted to remember them how they were and ended up struggling for weeks and not being able to accept it. BUT you do what you need to do and don't let what others may think of you determine how you deal with this tragedy. HUGS again.

Tonight I'm going to a Bachelor Finale Party!! Cheesy I know, but it's fun to get together with my other mom friends and talk about the drama! LOL. Tomorrow we have gymnastics and then DD is getting her first hair cut!! She currently has a mullet with a pretty sweet rat tail, but H and I decided it was time to get it trimmed and cleaned up. I'm excited because he's actually taking the time off from work and going to both things and I'm going to talk him into going out to lunch too. :) On Thursday I'm taking DD to toddler roller skating with some friends and then we have open house at preschool...I'm hoping this one is really good because I went to one last week that really sucked...they didn't even have any of the teachers there just office staff!

OH and we are taking away DD's pacifiers this week!! Tomorrow actually. I'm fearing the worst. She only uses them to sleep and she puts one in her mouth and then rubs the bases of 2 others to go to sleep so we are going to cut the nipple part off and let her keep the bases. Wish us luck!!!

  • @iloveshanej Im so very sorry for your loss.  What a horribly tragic story.  :(  I think you should do what is best for you.  If you think going to the viewing will help bring you some closure than I think it is worth it, however hard it may be, to go.  Don't worry about what other people will think of you if you don't end up going.  You and your friend know how much you loved her and that is all that matters.  Huge (((Hugs)))

One of my DD's favorite children's musicians is playing in town this weekend so we might go see them.

  • @iloveshanej just do what your gut says. No one that matters will judge you for your decisions. I am so sorry.

DCP is having a sick day so I went in to work super early and left at lunch so DH could go in. L is napping right now and I have to figure out what we are going to fill our afternoon with - outside! She has already been to the park today.

The rest of the week will be work, working out, Drs appts, and getting the garden ready to plant this weekend. The past 2 days of sun have melted nearly all of the snow. Peas and carrots go into the ground on Saturday.

Not much happening here. Maybe starting the garden fence but there is supposed to be rain...so we'll see. Just work otherwise. Boring life over here

  • @Iloveshanej I'm so sorry, what a sad time for you and your friends :( I think I would go to the funeral. I would definitely regret not saying goodbye.
Work training this week and last minute shopping and finishing up packing for vacation for me this week.
We also found the perfect new car that DH is going to pick tomorrow. No more worries about repairs and loaner cars for some time!
Hope everyone has a great week!

  • @iloveshanej I am so sorry to hear that.  I discovered Whatsupmoms recently and saw that one of the founders of the site died during childbirth with her 2nd child so I've been thinking lately about how that really happens.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
