Fluids leaking?

So this morning I had some fluids leak out. Hasn't happened before. It was enough to saturate panty liner and make panties wet. Called doctor but she's out today so office manager said to go to L&D... Just curious if that's really necessary? The liquid didn't necessarily smell like urine but still could have been, I just don't know. Does anyone have experience with this? I don't want to be over paranoid but I don't want to be neglectful either? No contractions but little cramps off and on.

I would go in. Doesn't hurt to be checked. If your water did break, you would want to know (and so would your OB), and if it's nothing, you can go home and be reassured that everything is fine.

Go in!!! That's how my water leaked as well. If it is you water then you will need to deliver within 24 hours!

GO IN. They can do a cervical exam and swab the fluids to do a fern test for amniotic fluids. This is not something to brush off, especially if you are GBS+.

Curious to your update ! I woke up with soaked panties. I changed them and haven't been wet since but I have serious back pain with no contractions. Should I get checked out just in case ? I'm 39 weeks

At the very least, call your provider. Again, rumptured membranes is nothing to fool around with! Good luck to you.

Friday afternoon, I went to the hospital for possible amniotic fluid leaking. Turns out, it wasn't, however after doing a biological profile, they found even more fluid then I had just 4 days prior, so they kept me overnight to monitor me. I was dilated to a 3 from a 2 since Tuesday. It also turned out that I was very dehydrated so they have me tons of fluids. Yesterday morning, my doc came in and checked me again and I was at a 3 1/2. She wanted to keep me again to keep monitoring me but I couldn't stay any longer without going into labor! She agreed to let me go as long as I do restricted activity. Little walking, no stairs, no lifting, etc. She wants me to last til this Tuesday when I'll be 37 weeks. The concern is, with me having so much fluid, that when my water does break, I have a high risk of a prolapsed umbilical cord. Living 45 minutes away from hospital kind of makes that nerve wrecking. So, on Tuesday, she is checking me again and if I've progressed to a 4cm, she told me to expect to go back to hospital where she can do a controlled water break so that she can manipulate baby's head and get it positioned where needs to be. (Also, he is measuring a week ahead and approx already weighs 7.5)Right now, baby is all over the place. He's head down, but not "locked in". When she checks me, she can touch his head and he just floats away and comes back. (crazy right!!) so all of this puts me a little on edge but we trust our doctor and more importantly God and just pray everything works out! I do feel lots better since all of his BPs have come back perfect and he is a very active baby.

Glad everything worked out for you! This morning I woke up and think I might have a slow leak. I called my dr, and am waiting for a call back. I seem to gush when I sit down. And I have a little pool of clear wetness in my pantiliners.

I'm so glad you went in and everyone is doing alright. It also sounds like you may be meeting your baby sooner than later, so happy for you guys! Hoping that everything goes as planned and baby and you go through birth with zero complications!
