less movement

Good morning ladies! So i turned 30 weeks yesterday and prior to yesterday i have felt my son all the time through out most of the day. He has been very active....even in sonos before i could feel him. But all day yesterday till now ive hardly felt him move(def not his normal pattern) and i feel a lot of pressure in my pelvic area. Should i be worried or is this normal?

Re: less movement

  • I would lay down and drink something cold like Gatorade and count your kicks for an hour or so. If you don't feel anything after an hour or two I would call your doctor but he could just be having a lazy day. 2 days ago I was nervous because my baby wasn't moving much but by night time when I relaxed and stopped making myself crazy over it I was able to get some good kicks!

  • Thank you! im extremely nervous. As of now im laying down i feel little flutters n hits but they are light and so low in my stomache. Im going to call my doctor soon as well. Just didnt want to over react.
  • Okay so I worry ALL THE TIME. With my frist, I'd leave work early and take 2 trains and then drive 20 minutes to get to the OB just because I'd felt decreased movement. haha. And seriously- never regretted it. I worry all the time, so if you can get 100% peace of mind by going in- why not?

But that being said, I do just want to point out that early in the pregnancy, babies sleep 3-5 minutes at a time. Now, they're learning how to sleep better, and they're sleeping in windows of 20-45 minutes. So we are supposed to feel less activity than before, because they're sleeping. Also, pelvic pressure can be related to baby dropping, head getting into position, even some braxton hicks.

Of course- all the doctors and professionals say we should feel 10 movements in 2 hours. And it's like, there's 24 hours in a day! How do you pick which 2??? I mean, it's so tricky and fickle and can totally scare a mama. So while I think you're likely totally fine, if it's stressing you at all- just go in! And after baby's born, you can send some nice bagels to the doctor's office :)
  • Lol yup thats pretty much how i am. I worry a lot n im wrecking my brain over this. My boyfriend says im fine and being dramatic lol. I wanted to hear from other moms and i will be going in to see my doctor just to give me a piece of mind. Hopefully you all are right and i have nothing to worry about!
