Cold sores

Stressing out my mum an grandmother came up for week long visit an they both now have cold sores. Worried my 10 week old baby mite get it any info on it...

    Cold sores are just a cute name for oral herpes. Your baby can catch it. Make sure they don't kiss your baby on the mouth. It's very contagious and it's for life. There's no cure for herpes. Only treatment for outbreaks.

    So, my hubby has gotten two cold sores since the baby was born. For the first one, the baby was only about a week old so my hubby wore a mask to be extra safe. LO was about two months when he had the second one and he just made sure not to kiss the baby or have him too close to his mouth. Since your LO is 10 weeks, taking proper precautions should be fine.

    Thanks told them both not to get to close was worried because we didn't notice the cold sores til later when I'm insure if they kissed her or not every day i keep checking her to make sure she hasn't caught anything
