The other day I noticed my mucus plug had fell out while using the restroom. My underwear has been really wet latley, I've had a lot of lower back pain around the kidney area and my vaginal area is hurting bad. Any ideas?
Ok, good. Please let us know. You need to be very careful anout infections at this point. If you are not yet 37w, I believe that it is called PROM if your water breaks. Sounds like you need to be evaluated asap.

I called the doctor on call for my doctor and her response to me was "if your so medically worried, go to L&D" I wouldn't have called if I wasn't worried you mean b@)ch. I'm 35 weeks today and as a FTM I don't know what I should be looking for
You should go there to be checked. Although the on-call could have handled your call with more tact, she can't examine you over the phone or tell if the wetness is amniotic fluid or if the backaches are labor.
There is a thread just a couple down from This about not ignoring wetness thinking its discharge. The girl was in early labor and has delivered her baby.
It should be clear to a slight yellowish tint- it can be greenish and have a thick consistency almost to the point of pea soup, but that only happens if the baby is stressed and has popped
@tabbyjohnson, I would not try to figure this one out yourself. Whether your water actually broke or if you are leaking amniotic fluid, you need to be seen. I lost over 50% of my amniotic fluid over a weekend, with no noticeable leaking. Ended up being induced that Monday due to low AF. Once your water breaks, contractions should begin in 24-48 hrs. It does not always happen that way however. If your water did break, depending on your gestational age and other factors, they can do things to keep the baby in. Either way, this is a medically significant and potentially dangerous situation. Go to L&D and ignore the crappy care you received from the on-call physician.

FWIW, this is my second baby. At my last three appointments, they have reminded me to go to L&D with any signs of leaking or certainly anything more than a leak. As for the pain, you could have developed an infection, or what you are feeling could be contractions. My contractions were mostly in my lower back with my daughter. Please, go to L&D now. You are not in a position to diagnose yourself and the health of your baby is at stake. I am frankly surprised you have waited this long.

You do not need to know anything more than that you are having pain and leaking something. Please stop with the Internet and go get medical care. I am starting to think you cannot be serious about this at all. This is not a situation to mess around with.

Everything is okay. Baby girl is pushing so hard on my bladder that I'm urinating and not knowing it. I was checked and barley a finger tip dialated.. Waiting to be discharged. Thank you for everyone's concern
And this is an example of why you can't ask internet strangers to diagnose you. We have the best intentions but like the on call doctor said, if you're so concerned why don't you go to L&D. Don't wait for us to answer, just go. We can give you all the hair pets you want, but if your baby would've actually been coming or if it would've been a bladder infection or something worse this post could've ended a different way.
