Something to think about for ftm

so we bought a travel system back in December and just not got around to installing the carsest ehich im thankful we did. My husband wanted to wait. Well the car seat base wasn't compatible with our car and we couldn't get it tight with a seat belt or the latch system. So we had to return and buy a whole new systems an test to make sure the carsest would properly fit. So before you register or buy yor carsest make sure you test it out. Toys are us was amazing it letting us try several different ones so we could make sure.

  • Sorry for all the typos on my phone and trying to eat at the same time lol!

  • Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea some bases wouldn't be compatible with some cars but makes perfect sense. Do you mind sharing which brand car seat/base it was and what type of car?
  • I have a chevy Equinox and that base that wouldn't fit was the baby trendz expedition car seat. We did get a prefect fit with gracco arie3 snug ride. It hard to explain but the latch on the one we orginally got is rather long so it doesn't bend. For the equinox our patches are not buried deep in the seat so when we attached even pulling tight the latch part caused the slack. And with the shape of the base that pushes against the seat it wouldn't get tight with the belt. But the gracco tightened right up!
  • I had this same issue with the convertible seat I got for DD1. We couldn't use it rear facing in my gmc terrain...so we had to put the one we bought for my DH's car until we turned her FF. I totally agree with going and testing them in your car before you buy them so you don't run into these issues.
