  I've had the test done but not had a positive result. I was told if it were to come back positive they'd just watch me a little closer. Was also told there are no false negatives, but could be some false positives.

  Well ffn tests are really unreliable, and the cervix is very telling. Why ddi you have the ffn in the first place?

  
  

  My doctor said if mine came back positive she'd send me for the steroid shots. But I really didn't want to if mine did. I read the effects are still debated and if you're CERTAIN you're going to have baby early- then do it. but if not, do your best to avoid it. So that was sort of my goal. Mine came back negative though. 

  
  

  I'd defintely follow drs advice. Take it easy, like FOR REAL. Don't work. Don't get out of bed for anything other than to pee! And see how taht goes. Also, ask when he thinks he'd send you for steroid shot. And also if he plans to repeat the ffn? They're seriously very unreliable. I had planned to ask for a repeat one if mine came back positive.

  I had a positive FFN with closed cervix and no contractions. I was giving steroids and was monitored for 5 days in the hospital. I'm home in bed rest now.

  Thanks for the responses. It doesn't make me feel much better about what my doctor is doing. He said I could even still work out if I wanted to just not too intense. I feel like he's not taking it seriously. I do like him but everything I have read show people doing shots, full bed rest and other drastic stuff and he just told me to tone down my exercise. I do like the idea of asking for a second test. We didn't have sex for about a week before the test so I doubt it was skewed but maybe something else impacted it

  I had a second test yesterday and it also came back positive but I'm also in the same boat as you. My cervix was long and not dilated so I was just told to take it easy and I am okay to go back to work but no strenuous activity or lifting. I did not take any steroids or medicine. It's really a 50/50 chance

  I had a positive result. Cervix was good and no contractions. I was on bed rest for a week...just until I followed up with a specialist. He said the test is unreliable. Cervical length and contractions are more important. He said bed rest is a waste unless you are dilating. That was over a month ago and I am fine.
