Stroller/car seat combo advice

trying to find a stroller/car seat combo. I wld like the jogger style that has the 3 sets of wheels. I've done some research but I can't seem to find any with great reviews that aren't horribly expensive. Any suggestions? My mom wants to buy it for me and said price is no issue but that gives me anxiety to pick something really expensive. Just really need suggestions.

Re: Stroller/car seat combo advice

  • What price range are you thinking? Are you planning to actually run with it? We got the BOB as a gift and like that there is the option to run or use it on trails. From what I understand the adapter makes it possible to use most infant car seats with it.

  • There really isn't a price range. I just want to be able to take it on trails and be really active with it. I had a friend recommend the Bob but the one she said to get didn't come with a car seat. And I wld really like to get the combo.
  • We got the baby trend expedition ELX travel system and even though we haven't really used it I love it so far! We bought it on the recommendation of my cousin who is big into hiking and jogging , her little guy is almost 2 now and she still uses it with no problems or issues. In Canada it retails for about 350 but we got it for $150 off at babies r us a few weeks back.
  • I'd look at the Baby Jogger City Mini GT stroller. Someone gave me the advice of shopping for the stroller that you want, as that will be used for several years. The infant car seat should be secondary. The City Mini has car seat adapters available so you can install the infant seat onto the stroller if you want to. I found Lucieslist.com and Youtube video reviews very very helpful in making my decision (we went with the Britax Travel system but we don't plan on doing much  any trail running).
  • I dont' have any suggestions but wanted to make sure you know that running with a jogger isn't recommended until baby is 6 months old so they have more control over their head.
  • I know it would be ideal to do a combo, but for a jogger, I would truly shop for them separately based on each of their own reviews and just get ones that can have an adapter for them to work together.  To me, the car seat safety is the number one priority, so we choose ours based on consumer reports ratings.  And then the jogger was more based on functionality for me, and there was nothing that aligned together as one brand/unit.
  • We registered for the BOB Motion. My father bought it for us. We researched all the brands and models and then went into the store to check them out in person. We really liked the BOB. It's a little more expensive, but we also feel that we'd rather pay a little more and have it last for the next kid.
  • Yeah I agree with saric83. ..From what I read about jogger strollers most are specific to your jogging needs and made for older babies. I would just get one of those snap and go strollers for the car seat and when the baby outgrows the infant car seat invest in the jogger stroller of your choice.

Or like saric83 said get the infant car seat adapter and hopefully it's compatible with the jogging stroller.
