TTC after 35

Feeling disappointed and a bit defeated (losses mentioned)...

Hey all,

I've been trying everything this cycle - lots of exercise, healthy eating, Vitex, prenatals, flaxseed oil, inositol supplement, preconception teas, cutting back carbs, etc. It took me forever to get a positive OPK (on CD27 - I peed on so many sticks!) and I was soooo excited but based on my temping, it looks like I didn't ovulate at all :-( I had a small increase of temp the day after the +OPK, but it's been on a steep decline since (dropping all the way to 96.8 this am, on CD31).

I know that having PCOS means I don't ovulate every month, but I've been on a roll the past few months and just assumed it'd happen since I was doing so many *right* things. Plus, I did get pregnant twice last year (both ended in m/c) by natural means, so had high hopes it could happen again. Not sure what to do next...maybe this is just a crappy cycle?

I just wish I could get my cycle to be more regular and predictable. Waiting and hoping to O is actually worse for me than the 2ww (because when I do O, I'm all excited that it actually happened and feel hopeful...but when I don't, I feel so sad).

Just a rant. Thanks for listening.

  • Sorry, hun. That's really frustrating.  No experience with PCOS but I do understand the feeling of anxiety waiting to O.  Hopefully this cycle will end soon and you'll get another chance next month.

  • I'm really sorry. I know from another fellow TTC over 35 veteran that PCOS makes it so hard. I wish we all had a magic answer to give you so at least you could always know you O. It really sucks. I hope your next cycle will be better.
Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.
  • Thanks so much for the support, ladies! It really helps a lot. Hubby is sweet and tries to be supportive, but I don't think he grasps the depth of my disappointment when my body gets all out of sync.

  • @jilligan14 I hope you have a great week this week. That's it. Just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you.
  • Sorry @jilligan14. Agreed, vent away. My DH is supportive too but doesn't fully get it either.
