Any Off-roading moms?

My family loves to go off-roading. We have several ATVs and UTVs. I was wondering if anyone had experience riding while pregnant. Our UTV is fully equipped with safety harnesses, doors, etc. We ride a lot of gravel roads, some mud and hills, but mostly trails that are not very dangerous.

I know that many of you will say it isn't safe and ask why I would take the risk. But I really would like to hear from moms who at least have some riding experience.

Re: Any Off-roading moms?

  • I love that stuff! However, I'm one of those worriers who is afraid to do anything that might cause me to have an accident. If it's just around a yard or field, I would do it (even though I wouldn't want to go that fast which kind of defeats the fun of it, lol!). But I would be leery about going out on trails or doing anything slightly dangerous like climbing rocks.

I definitely get the urge to go though, seeing all these happy snowmobilers makes me wish I could go out there SO badly!

  • My husband is bugging me RfN about going snowmobiling. We went out a few weeks ago and the bumps were very uncomfortable. So, I'm going to pass until further notice. My niece actually went snowmobiling to induce labor.
  • Lol, I tried to induce labour by driving bumpy dirt roads in a big truck last time (Drs told me it would be good to go into labour on my own before they induced me) and it didn't work - but we got a flat tire and had no mobile reception so it was an adventure...
