How is your LO temper?

My LO is something else! She is so different from my DS1 he was so quiet and sweet , my a14 DD Slap me, bite me ,pinch me ,she gets so angry ! turn red and cry when she wants something .
HERE IS MY QUESTION HOW IS YOUR LO ?
ARE WE THE ONLY ONE WITH TEMPER?

Re: How is your LO temper?

  • You are not the only one. DD gets soooo mad and shrieks when she doesn't get her way now. The other day she started crying/fussing and I yelled back at her jokingly...she yelled really intensely back...it reminded me of the troll in lord of the rings.

  • My LO is crazy funny! If she grabs something she's not supposed to have and we take it away, she will throw herself to the floor, screaming and crying! We just laugh and say "melt down in progress!". She also shrieks if we look away from her or one of us leaves the room. It's really funny seeing have she reacts to things now!
  • Definitely seeing that LO has a real opinion about things too! He will scream and shout and get so frustrated if something gets taken away or if he can't get something he wants.  I usually just tell him why he can't have the thing, or help he figure out the thing he is frustrated about.  And often laugh.
  • my kids are always easy going little babies, then as they approach 1 something goes off in their brain called hidden evil toddler syndrome. A few weeks ago I could easily take a toy out of her hand, redirect her if she's trying to get something or somewhere, but not anymore. It's all dramatic screaming and body arching and throwing self on floor action. Bring me my sweet baby back!!

  • I'm glad you guys are dealing with this too! We haven't had too many tantrums but I know they'll start coming more often :((
  • Everyone tells me how easy going my LO is, but I've noticed the toddler tantrums starting! My favourite moment so far was when he threw a fit when we wouldn't let him brush his penis with his toothbrush. That turned into a nightly thing. We ended up getting a second toothbrush. So we have a mouth toothbrush and a penis toothbrush. Probably not the best parenting, but I decided that a penis toothbrush is not my hill to die on!

Bahahahahaha, that is awesome, a penis toothbrush! Already picking your battles, huh? Smart Lady!

  • @Talltrees82 ~ That makes me laugh hysterically!

DS is pretty chill.  He really only gets upset if he's hungry or has a dirty diaper.  I imagine we'll come into some issues once the new baby arrives.

  • J just goes straight to meltdowns when he's upset (but that may be a mix of being sick/having a constant ear ache).  When he's happy (usually) he makes a lot of great faces and eyebrows and laughs a lot.
  • Oh @Talltrees82 That is beyond awesome.
  • C gets quite upset if she is interrupted doing something she's very into; it's kinda cute and funny (for now); she gets extra upset if she is hungry- just like her mom :-)
  • My munchkin is becoming a little shit. She knows that we do not let her climb on the entertainment center and now she just slowly inches towards it, while looking back as us as we say "no no no", and then shakes her head and just keeps doing it! We promptly remove her and redirect her to her room/other toys etc but she usually just goes right back! If I raise my voice at all to say "no" she laughs in my face!  I have a little boundary tester! I am in for it!

  • Its funny you brought this thread back up... yesterday DD did the scary yelling back at me thing again... I actually stepped back when she did it! I tried to find a gif for the troll in Lord of the Rings to show the moment I am talking about, but I couldn't find it. So I will post a picture instead.image

  • Penis toothbrush! I love it!
We let Caroline play in the kids section at Barnes and noble on Sunday. The other kids were playing with her and she was having a great time. When we went to leave (after about 45 minutes) she totally threw a fit! Back arching, crying, kicking. I could not believe it. I thought they didn't act that way until at least 2! Guess she was having too much fun :)
