Baby only sleeps soundly in his swing

My baby will only sleep soundly for a long period of time in his swing.. If I try to get him to sleep in his crib or pack and play, he wakes up every Five minutes! I know it's really bad for him to sleep there for a long period of time but sometimes I just need him to sleep !

  • Get thee a Rock n Play. Also not approved for overnight sleep, but it's the only way my and a ton of other people's LOs can sleep.

  • We use the rock n play that rocks itself. LO has slept thru the night since we started using it 6 weeks ago. He's now 12 weeks old and we usually get 8 or 9 hours straight.
  • We also use the auto rocking rock n play for our 12 week old. He will really only nap in swing though. I don't think it's too bad! I'm just worried about transitioning but am still in survival mode! He will usually sleep 6-9 hours straight in it but last night did 11! I think the rocking lulls him back to sleep when he semi-wakes. Any parents of rock n play sleepers have transition suggestions? Also, for swing sleeper safety, go to this website and search "swing" once you're there. I think you'll be relieved! :)https://www.troublesometots.com/?s=Swing

  • My LO would only sleep in her swing too. (Graco duet). She would sleep 6-8 hours in that, then another 2-3 in her pack n play. Just last weekend started putting her in the pack n play and turning on the vibration under the mattress-totally worked!! Still sleeps about the same amount! I have her swaddled too, but she usually wiggles her way out of it by morning.

  • I got the one baby who does not like the rock n play. I guess I should have gotten the auto rocking one! He does however, love the swing and will sleep in it for hours. He takes a good 3 hour nap in it everyday. For night time sleep, I gave in and let him sleep with me. That is ending soon though because it causes me not to sleep well. My little fella just turned 3 months so I will start the transition to the crib soon. I'm sure it will be a nightmare though......for me!!
  • My now 5 year old was the same way! I just let her sleep in it I moved it next to my bed. It was the only way both of us slept. Hang in there. Encourage day time naps in her crib when you are not so tired.
