When to tell the families?

We will be seeing both sides of our families right around 7 weeks with our first. Our first ultrasound isn't until week 9. I know it is different for each couple but I'd love to hear thoughts on whether or not 7 weeks is too early to tell our parents and siblings!

    We will be telling both my parents and my husband's parents right around the 7wk mark, siblings shortly after. We are just so thrilled that we want to share the joy with our immediate families (and heaven forbid anything happens we would need their support) Beyond family is TBD....waiting for the world until after 1st trimester of course!

    I like the idea of if I would tell them something went wrong then they are people I would feel comfortable telling right away. We told everyone right away with our first and I had so much anxiety. This time we didn't tell and when I had bleeding I felt so alone so we started telling people who we would tell if something went wrong.

    Going thru this now. I did not want anyone besides best friends knowing, right up until I had a scare and found myself in the ER. I had first US today (9w 3d) and heard my baby's heart beating and saw that tiny body moving and said you know what, I'm about to spread this news! It's just too good to keep quiet... I know ppl say it's "good luck" to wait, however we don't believe in "luck", we believe in God! And my baby is covered in the very own blood of Jesus!

    We will be telling our immediate families this weekend, and have told a few close friends. We are not planning to share the news with many others until after the first trimester, but I am very glad we chose to tell a few people.
