I'm not obsessed with it. But I definitely find my self eating it a lot more. Especially when I'm at a restaurant and my drink is empty. My husband made a comment about pregnant women loving ice last time he saw me do this at dinner.
@greks84 you could get tested first. Iron can be very constipating but may be necessary if you are low. Make sure you take your iron with vitamin C so you absorb it better.
Go to your OBGYN and have your iron checked...they should draw a CBC or an H&H to check this and then only start a supplement if it's low and your OBGYN tells you to.
I actually highly doubt that I have low iron. I'm really good about eating healthy home cooked meals and I take my prenatal every day. I'll ask my doctor at my next visit though!

I do too...but my iron was still low when they checked it at 24 weeks. It was normal when they checked at 9 weeks. The baby just sucks you dry sometimes. I had no symptoms, they just ran it as part of their normal work up and I was started on supplements.
I was wrong!!! I have low iron and she said everything will be low for me bc I'm having twins! I have been on iron supplements for three days now but still want ice all the time... We will see if that changes lol. I also failed one hour glucose test and go in for the 3 hour in Friday! Uuuggghhhh....
I hadn't really put it together but I also have been chewing ice more than before (well, I have never done it and now I do it regularly at restaurants). Weird.
I don't have access to an ice machine at work so as soon as I get home everyday I fill my glass up with crushed ice and water and I chomp away. My poor teeth haha!
I have pica so I crave ice all the time. I It is a sign of low iron but it could also be a craving. I am craving Reddy Ice only. I am craving the distinct taste it has. The cold feels really good on my heart burn too.
