The only advice I can give is that if your doctor said you were fine, then not to worry. If your doctor isn't concerned, then I wouldn't be either. Everyone's body and weight gain or lack thereof are different.
Mmmm maybe use my fitness pal app ?!?! Also it is completely okay to gain and sometimes it's out of your control....... We don't always get all the control in this pregnancy shit!!!!
I am also 5'10" and I also weighed 140 before pregnancy. I also only gained 5 lbs at 18 weeks and I've gained 20 at this point. So basically the same as you, but you're making WAY better food choices. I specially asked my doctor if I had gained too much at my last appointment and she said no and not to worry...so I'm mostly not...haha. Unless she tells me differently I'm just going to relax and enjoy my bump. The comments are annoying though! It's amazing what people will say when you're pregnant!
I say as long as your doctor is not concerned and you're eating healthy then don't worry about the weight gain. Everyone gains differently. I have a friend that was in very good shape before pregnancy and she continued eating very healthy and working out throughout the nine months and still gained 60lbs. Others might give into every craving, not exercise, and gain 20. Everyone is different. Also, you might be like me and gain the majority of your weight in the second trimester.
Everyone is different! I'm a shorty (5'1) and only gained about 10 lbs so far. With my last pregnancy, I gained 25, and gained more weight after I had the baby due to tiredness and lack of movement and lots of sugar! I didn't lose a drop of baby weight until my son weaned at 18 months. I tend to gain weight after the babies get here! Haha. As long as your Dr is okay with it, just do you! ☺
I had only gained one pound at my 20 week appointment and I am now up 13 pounds and im 27. seems like a lot of girls are hitting weight gain at this point.
I go through stages where I can't stop eating and gain 5 lbs, then I'm good for a few weeks and gain maybe 1 lb. if your dr. isn't worried, then I wouldn't be worried.
Yeah it's shocking to see that number on the scale but I wouldn't be worried about it. Seems like you're eating great and getting plenty of walking time/exercise. It's baby weight.
I'm going to weigh more than my husband when this pregnancy hits the 40 week mark. Ps- I started around 140 also and I'm up to 155. Week 23.
Don't worry about it at all. You are fine. And for heavens sake eat when you are dizzy and do it without feeling guilty at all! It sounds like you are already watching what you eat, and you really shouldn't we watching how much right now if you are hungry and dizzy. The baby takes what they need and there's nothing left for you if you cut back too much.
I believe 25 lbs at 26 weeks is completely normal. Especially given how thin you were to begin with, you would fall into the should gain 35+ by the end bracket. You only have 14 weeks left and I suspect your weight gain will slow down. Both my sister and I feel like we don't gain much in the 3rd trimester. I'm 27 weeks and up 19-20 lbs this pregnancy, all coming in the 2nd trimester, still gaining rapidly. 2-3 lbs a week for me as well. With my first I was up over 30 lbs by 27 weeks after gaining more in the 1st trimester but really only gained 35-38 lbs by 42 weeks. Definitely slowed down at the end.
I assume you are worried about taking it off. It will come off. I would suggest putting the scale away completely for the rest of the pregnancy. You are doing everything right and you really aren't in any danger of gaining too much.
Please please please listen to your body and not the scale. 20lbs could be baby, water, fat or any combination of the 3. Restricting would probably be the absolute worst thing you could do. Considering the detailed catalog you wrote of your eating habits it sounds like you may be doing that...your body may need more food than that...maybe not, do what it says. You are pregnant and you are going to gain weight...more than just the baby itself because that's what your body NEEDS! If your doctor isn't worried then you shouldn't be. Despite popular opinion there is no perfect number or rate of gain...literally all women are different.
I gained 20 by 26. Not worried about it. There are weeks where I have gained 2 lbs, 1, and none in the second trimester. If you were that thin, maybe more than 3 lbs is for boobs (I know mine are) so that will account for some of it too.
I was the opposite - freaked out when I gained 15 pounds in the first tri, but have only gained a couple in the 2nd. Everyone is different. Agree with others that this isn't really the time to be restricting yourself.

Weight gain plays more a mind game in my case because I recently lost about 85 pounds in about a year and a half. I'm pregnant after I kept my weight loss for only about 3-4 months. I mean it couldn't happened at a better time as I conceived at my healthiest but the baby weight gain made me wonder if it's truly because of baby? Or because I'm eating more because I'm hungry all the time? Also weather has been brutal this winter where I live (temperature never went above freezing in the month of Feb!) and I haven't been motivated enough to go to gym as often as I normally/would like to.
I try not to think about it too much but it's not easy. My OB knew my story and only gave me 20 lbs to gain. Problem is I have gained about 20 lbs so far and I'm at 26 weeks. I'm seeing her on Thursday and will see what she says!
Re: Gained 20 lbs in 10 weeks
If you figure this out let me know! I am beyond frustrated too!
