Must Have Baby Products?

stm but my son was born 7 years ago. I'm so amazed at all the new baby products out now. Video monitors! Baby food processors! Its like a new world. I have my heart set on the mamaroo. It looks amazing! Any other new products out there you think are must haves or just plain cool??

  • Snap n go stroller - a must to not wake sleeping baby and keep baby warm in the winter with a zip up cover thing.
For me, having a pnp and bouncy chair on both levels was a life saver.
I love my video monitor even now bc I can tell if she is truely awake or just fussing with a chance of falling back to sleep.

Franco Paul born 6/4/15 at 39 weeks.  Mila Francesca born 10/19/13 at 37 weeks.  Both born via C-Section after 6 years of fertility treatments, disappointments and losses. Love them!!

  • I assume you mean the "extras" aside from the basics of diapers, wipes, baby wash, etc. I'm a minimalist but with DD the following came in handy:

    - Agree with A+A blankets.

    - Agree with bouncy chairs. It's how I took a shower!

    - A way to baby wear. There are a lot of great ones out there but I liked the Moby wrap for NB and the Baby Bjorn for after. Hands free, especially out and about, is priceless. DD strongly preferred to face out, which the BB can do, and the bad rep it has gotten is totally unfounded.

    - Washable bamboo nipple pads. I sprayed all over the place when I was BFing and would've soaked many a shirt!

    - A diaper bag with a changing pad included has been handy and well-used. We have the Skip Hop Duo in black and love it.

    - We have a video monitor that hooks up to Wifi and we have an app on our phones instead of a separate monitor to carry around. It's a nice-to-have but not a must IMO.

    - Early on, DD took her best nap of the day in a swing. It was a gift and I wouldn't have purchased one, again not a must IMO.

I'm not sure how many of these are new since your DS was born though...

  • The ergo! And a video montior! And a Sleep Sheep for in the car!

hmm... trying to think. I also loved the bouncer for taking a shower (and also stubbing my toe horribly in the middle of the night trips to pee...).

I think that's it. There is so much fancy stuff! I Love it!
  • Definitelty a MamaRoo! My now 18 month old loved his! Also, noodle and boo bath products from Nordstrom are the best!

    I want a mamaroo!
Maybe more so for me than the baby! Haha they look so cool!

I actually went to look at one and they are really small. It says up to 6 months which seems like such a short time to use it. Now I'm not so sure...
  • I loved the Nose Frida with my son. It got so much more snot out than with one of those blue bulb ones.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Loved my rock n play.
  • With DD1 (23 months) ironically I didn't want to go overboard with stuff since they grow so fast. Yet as I am approaching DD2 they are a few items I didn't get that I want to get this time around.
    --rock n play
    ---bouncer
----video monitor ***while not necessary...this could of saved me trips to the bedroom to check on baby***
__toys ***I underestimated how quickly baby would enjoy a few interactive toys. Especially those with sounds***
  • It's been almost 10 years since my last pregnancy, so I'm finding a lot of big changes. I have the mamaroo on the registry and hubby and I bought our own 2015 uppababy vista that way if we decide to have another in a year or two later we have a double stroller, so cool, and it came with a bassinet, just wonderful. :)
  • Nose frieda for sure! A white noise machine, cool mist humidifier, halo swaddles, SwaddleMe swaddles, a rock n play, saline spray, saline nose wipes, a great diaper bag, tons of baby washcloths & burp cloths, disposable nursing pads, coconut oil, that little baby einstein toy that's like $7 everywhere you go....
  • Oh, & the sunny stroll!
  • A DIAPER GENIE!! lol (I'm definitely getting one this time around!)
  • The baby shusher! I'm a newborn photographer and have seen this handy little tool work magic! definetly getting it for my baby!
  • What video monitor does everyone like best?  We were thinking about the DropCam since it can be used with both of our phones instead of a separate unit.  Thoughts?
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • I have two diaper genies this time around. One for each floor. I'll have 2 in diapers and don't want to be going up and down stairs constantly. Definitely agree with the white noise maker. Also a dim light or nightlight for middle of the night feeds. Oh and getting the video monitor was worth the money. Saved accidentally waking the baby up when checking on him and when they are toddlers you can see if they are getting into mischief during naps.
