3rd Trimester

POOP!

My DD is just now in her third trimester, and I want to be sure to remind her of one thing:  Buy a home enema kit, and use it just before you go to the hospital!  It will save a world of embarrassment in the labor room!  I did it for my last two babies, and was so glad I did!  It's not the most comfortable thing to do while having contractions, but worth not having my husband see that brown blob oozing out when he was expecting a baby's head!!  Ha!!

Yeah right. No one cares if you have a bowel movement while pushing your baby out. How ridiculous is this troll post.

OP stop..just stop if ur daughter has made it into her 3rd tri she is surely aware of everything that may happen while giving birth ..having a bowel movement is natural since baby is coming down and pushing on your intestines.. as for the hubby they can talk and decide whether he'll be there holding legs up and witnessing the whole show or simply being by her side and supporting her (which is what I would prefer)..SooO again stop being an over bearing mother and just support ur daughter and respect her decisions because this is her pregnancy/child..

  • This is ridiculous! Leave your poor daughter alone and let her give birth the way SHE wants to!!!
  • Ok this is very common for grandmas to be. When my mom gave birth to me they did the enema. Now a days it's not given to moms in labour. I'm sure she's aware of what's going to happen and doesn't need the advice. Just let her go with the flow and make her own choice. Don't be that mom and give her unwanted advice even if you feel it's helpful.
  • I am now dumber for having read this post.

  • That's dumb. No one cares if you poop on the table. This will be my third kid and I have no idea if I've ever pooped during labor and I don't really care.

  • First off enemas are not exactly safe while pregnant and second, if it does happen...IF it happens the nurses/midwives ect clean it up so fast and do not even mention it. I've heard of dads down there when it happened and they didn't even realize it because you just don't see it- the only reason mom knew it happened was because she asked the staff later. It's not a
Big deal and its people like you that make poor other mothers worry about crap that is NOT important. Please stop suggesting enemas, laxatives, castor oil and everything else that can cause more damage then good. If she is concerned she can speak to HER doctor. Good grief

  • Our hospital said it used to be routine to give an enema when a women came in during labor.  But they stopped because usually your body knows what to do and a lot of women have loose bowel movements during early labor (natures way of clearing things out for delivery).  That being said, I pooped (alllll that pressure down there :)) and the nurse was like, it's no big deal, we'll just clean you up.  Your pushing with the same muscles that you use to poop, so it's not unnatural to poop during labor.  At that point, I didn't give 2 shits (pun intended) if I had pooped.  I wanted the baby out :)

  • If the husband can't handle a little poo... you better send him away until the baby is potty trained!
