November 2015 Moms

Hi! # 3 on the way

Hi all! Looking forward to getting to know you all. DS1 will be 4 this week and DS2 will be 2 in April. Haven't been to the doc yet but current due date is 11/2. We had a mc prior to DS1 so I'm still in waiting mode. DH is shocked because we were using the calendar method and were in the "safe zone" but I either ovulated early or misread the calendar because surprise bfp! I'm tentative and worried but overall thrilled. He's still adjusting to the idea because he was very happy with only having 2 kids. Either way, baby was conceived in love and will be very loved.

  • That's awesome :) I'm due nov 2 too with # 3. My other two are 6 and 3 though. All of my babies are 3 yrs apart.
  • I am due with #3 Nov 1! I have a 4 year old and 2 year old!
  • I am due Nov 2 and this is baby #3 too. I have a daughter 7 and a son 6.
  • I'm also due 11/2 with #3. My boys turned 2 in November.

I could of written the same story with the ovulation, we were also in the safe zone but something went wonky.

Here's to a healthy and happy 9 months. Congratulations!

3 years is great spacing.. Maybe you and amcbealian79 will have some extra sets of hands to "help" ;)

Glad I'm not alone. What do you think happened in your case? How do you and DH feel about this surprise? I really think I must have just ovulated early. It's so crazy. I was in denial when I missed my period - in fact I told my friend that it was impossible for us to be pregnant. I used my fertility friend app religiously but was too lazy to temp after the first 5 or 6 cycles because I was pretty regular. Things happen for a reason, right? I guess I'm no poster child for the fertility monitoring methods.
  • Oh, and rock on 3rd babies!! Time for some zone defense. What an adventure! :P
  • #3 headed this way too! EDD 11/7. My girls are 4 and 13mo. Zone defense for sure!

@MarchABC I'm think I had to ovulate early, we were 6 days out from my O day. So technically safe, what boggles my mind is that I had absolutely no O pain, or any CM like at all. My only logical guess is I had to of O'd early. I'm interested to see what the u/s reflects.

I'm doing okay, we were really set on being done and this happened. Some days I have to remind myself I have 9 months to figure it out, if I don't my mind turns into a hamster wheel, others I'm semi okay with it. DH is still really shocked, and trying to take it day by day. How are you doing with the news?

And I agree, things happen for a reason! We've got 9 months to get our minds around it and 9 months before we actually have to figure it out.
  • Congratulations! We are due Nov 3 with #3. DS1 will be 4 in June and DS #2 will be 2 in August. Hopefully we can share tips with how to manage 3! :)

They get along great (mostly)! It has been so much fun watching them, I hope they stay close growing up!

You sound very much like me - I have so many different feelings about this surprise but, as you said, we have time to let it sink in. Right now, I feel so fortunate to get the opportunity to be pregnant again (thought I'd never convince DH to try again) but sad that my DH is less than thrilled. I know he will come around - he's an amazing dad - but I just wish he would do it now. ;)

When do you think you'll get your first u/s?

Another baby #3 due on Nov 2nd here. I have a 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter. It was also a big shock to us since I was on the pill, but very excited for our growing family.

So far I haven't had any symptoms and am a little nervous, I was really sick with my first 2 pretty much right away. Just trying to be optimistic.

  • @MarchABC I honestly have no idea. I called the place where I'm seen at and haven't gotten a call back, I'm in a situation where I'm trying to figure out if I want to stay there or if I want to go to a different OB. Last time it was closer to 11 weeks, so who knows what it will be like this time. I'm hoping to push for earlier because I would really like confirmation that there is only 1 in there. :/

    What about you?

@amh0411712s Is it a small practice? I'm surprised they haven't called you back. I had a m/c before having the boys so they've always done early ultrasounds for me (like 6 weeks). I'm going to call and see if they can do one at my first appt at 7 weeks. I'm not sure what the standard practice is for ultrasounds. I certainly don't want too many but I'd also like confirmation that all is well. Do twins run in your family? Can you imagine having twins? Surprise, you're pregnant AND it's twins? ((Pass out))

Also, I'm so excited that there are so many of us on #3. And it gives me comfort that we're not the only ones working our ways through this big surprise too.

It's not, unfortunately, which is my struggle. I'm currently seen at a Naval Hospital which is at no cost. So that's nice. If they refer me out, I'll continue to have no cost. But if I switch to a Dr out in town, I will have copays etc. So who knows what will happen. I'm not thrilled with how my mc in Oct of 2013 was handled at all so I'm pretty skeptical.

Well my first pregnancy was twin boys, identicals are spontaneous but after having 1 set of twins my risk elevates slightly. So I'm slightly nervous now that I know it's a real possibility.

I am in the same boat as you...DS1 is 4, DS2 is 2 and now baby #3 is on the way. I've always wanted three, but I'm still in shock when I think about having 3 kids!! Congrats and I'm glad to have a 3rd-baby pal :)

  • @amh0411712s I didn't realize that about identical twins. Interesting. I wonder what you have going on in there now.. Hehe..
I would hope that given our history (both having twins and a m/c) that they would be willing to get you in sooner.
  • Thanks @MarchABC me too! Time will tell :)
