Hello! I am currently 16 weeks 5 days pregnant! The left is a picture of my sons ultrasound at 11 weeks 5 days and the right is my current pregnancy taken today at 16 weeks 5 days. What do you think baby is, based on "skull theory"
I cannot tell the sex of your baby by looking at the skull; there does not appear to be any sex organs attached to the skull. Must be such a relief, right?
Wow. Cranky people on this board that's for sure. Skull theory, whether you believe it to be relevant or not, is something that "exists" . I never said I believe in it, and I wasn't asking for medical opinion. I was simply looking to engage in some light hearted conversation with fellow mommies. Lighten up!

Like I clearly stated, I don't necessarily believe in it, was just looking for some light hearted conversation.
You got conversation. The consensus is that people on the Bump tend to not like ultrasound guessing and prefer to find out either from ultrasound or bloodwork or at birth, all of which have better odds of being right
Wow - yup someone needs to relax a little! not familiar with the skull theory but your baby's skull looks beautiful and very well formed! My prediction is a clever and happy boy!

Well, you have a 50% chance if being right about the boy part. Also, stay here any amount of time, see at least two of the "guess my baby's gender" posts a day and you too will probably be tired of them. I've been here six months and they already sicken me: A) It's sex, not gender, and We are not u/s techs, so guesses are only as good as 50/50, plus I have no interest in how your child is going to pee (do you care about the sex of MY child? Honestly?), plus in 99% of these cases, OP never comes back with the outcome so I never get to know if I was right. And I won't get a prize if I do, damnit! Moar prizes!
I like the old wives tales games, yes, they are silly, but silly can be fun. But I've never heard of this skull theory, and I'm usually passably interested in weird stuff like that (I don't put stock in it, I'm for hard science, but like I said - I find old wives tales fun). What I did want to say tho, is - OP, you may want to remove the picture of your ultrasound, unless you don't mind that the Bump owns it and does whatever they want with it
We were so surprised to see the gender of our baby! My mother went to the appointment with me and the ultrasound tech typed the gender of our baby on the screen for her. I found an empty box at Target and decorated it then we went to the dollar store where she went inside alone and had them fill the box up with balloons to identify our bundle of joy! She tried to syke me out at the appointment by "mistakingly" saying "aww look at her little feet"; I of course for upset and believed I was having a girl because if you know my mother then you would know that would be a likely thing for her to do she has Freudian slips frequently. Anyways at the photo shoot I thought I would have to fake a surprise but NOPE; ITS A BOY!! We are beyond excited we wanted nothing more than a healthy baby but the fact that we are having a boy makes it even better. My fiancé has created SIX GIRLS! This is first son and I am thankful to the creator for allowing me to give him his first boy!

Dear Alyllyra et al, based on your grumpy attitude you're having a girl! I've been working as a sonographer for over 8 years and revealing the gender of a baby to expectant parents is by far far the highlight of my job. Better than days where all I do is confirm to people that they have cancer. I love these forums and gender guess posts as they remind me of the excitement and joy that expecting a baby brings people! Relax a little and if something really sickens you skip past it! Don't take joy away from the world - Theres not enough of it about.

Not sure if serious......
I think it is. Not too sure about how this has anything to do with the OP's question but......oohhhhk. Congrats on your boy.
If a theory has been proven wrong (as they all have), I don't get what's fun about it. I honestly really don't. If you are using this theory to make a prediction, you are using what's been proven as wrong info to make the prediction.
I get that some people might like to guess based on what genitals they think they see, or random guessing. I can see how that could be fun for some people. But I can't understand how it is fun to use wrong info to guess. And that's pretty much what people are doing when they say they don't believe in it.
I don't believe in Big foot. At all. So I don't watch those Finding Bigfoot shows, or go out looking for them.

Well, that's a good 50/50 guess. We'll see in a couple of days if you were right...
I get that you like that aspect of your job (although I have never really understood the need for parents to know the sex before birth unless there are medical reasons for it, but that's just me). But please explain why you find it fun to make an absolutely non-qualified guess based on nothing? For me, the highlights of my job is when I can solve a problem using my skills and education, not when I make a lucky guess and happen to be right.
On this forum it's not at all about being right or wrong with your guess - it's about sharing the joy and excitement
I can be excited about someone having a baby with a healthy heartbeat, or someone having to make a tough decision and doing the right thing for their baby.
Being excited about if their child will pee sitting down or standing up? Not so much.
