Evening primrose

Has anyone taken or is taking evening primrose pills? Opinions? Or red raspberry leaf tea? Started the primrose pills yesterday and am hoping they may help a little with labor and delivery. I am 36.5 weeks.

Re: Evening primrose

  • I am drinking Traditional Medicinal Pregancy Tea. I asked my OB and she said that it's not going to induce labor, so I feel comfortable drinking it. This is my first, so I'm not sure how it's going to effect labor. Sorry I don't have more to add!

  • This is my first too. I am not looking to induce labor, just possibly make it go a little smoother. I've researched and talked to my midwife about it and was looking for some personal experience stories I guess. Thanks for the input though!

  • I've been using EPO capsules for about 2 weeks now (I'm now 38 wks 5 days).. I don't think they'll induce labor (although I'm totally ready to go if they do!), but I'm just hoping for them to help make the cervix and perineal areas a little more "pliable".. Haha I want to avoid tearing, I mean. I use the gel capsules, make little holes in them with a push pin and gently stick em up there before bed (started with just one capsule and bumped it up to two per day a few days ago).. And make sure to wear a pad or panty liner to bed cuz they kinda ooze out a little. I'm also using a coconut oil spray with drops of frankincense, lavender and roman chamomile which I spray on my lady bits twice a day. Again, just helping make the skin a little stretchier.
