  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?
24 weeks, due June 18, cantaloupe (Mmm, cantaloupe)

    2. Age at delivery?
    37

    3. Any other children or fur babies?
2 kitties - Samurai, the Ewok Praetorian Guard and Silt, the Big Man

    4. How are you feeling?
    Tired a lot.

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
    GD testing on 3/12
Rave - the sun is staying up later. Even tho its still in the single digits with negative wind chills here, I think I can begin to see the end of winter

QOTW: Who has been the most supportive/understanding during your pregnancy?  If you are newly pregnant (and even if you aren't), how did you share the news with family and friends?

I don't have many friends here. I have some acquaintances that I enjoy seeing around and one person who I believe is becoming a friend. So, DH has been the most supportive. He has been really cool about just how wiped out I always am.

We shared the news to family with phone calls, my sister was the first to know cause I called her freaking out (this was not planned). For friends, we waited until 19 weeks and took a picture of the a/s photo with 3 of our Xbox controllers (we're huge gamers). I was player one, DH was player two, and we had a sign underneath the a/s photo saying 'player three entering game June 2015'. We put that out on fb and our friends from all over (DH is active duty military, so we know people all over the place) totally blew up.

  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?
35 weeks tomorrow, due 4/5/15, coconut (tomorrow)

    2. Age at delivery?
    35

    3. Any other children or fur babies?
DS is 20 months, and we have 2 black labs. I don't think any of them have a clue what is about to happen. Then again, the older female lab has been really protective of me lately. She's probably the only one with any idea that things are about to change.

    4. How are you feeling?
The usual suspects for the last few weeks are popping up - back pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, etc. Plus I still have morning sickness which never went away. And I have either pregnancy rhinitis or a cold. But whatever.

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
I'm on weekly visits now. My blood pressure is still high, but labs are normal. If it stays like this then I go until baby is ready. If BP keeps creeping up, or labs get weird, then they induce. I'm just happy that DD is finally far enough along to go to the term nursery and not the NICU!

QOTW: Who has been the most supportive/understanding during your pregnancy?  IIf you are newly pregnant (and even if you aren't), how did you share the news with family and friends?
I'd say a friend of mine with 3 kids under 5 has been most supportive. Everyone else is kind of 'meh' about it because it's my 2nd pregnancy in 2 years. I wouldn't say they're unsupportive, just that they are less...well....how do I say this? With the first one, DS asked how I felt every day and helped a ton. With this one, he forgets. The newness is gone.

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?  5 weeks today, EDD of 10/31, baby is the size of a peppercorn, sesame seed, or red lentil, depending on who you ask.

    2. Age at delivery? 42

    3. Any other children or fur babies? DD1 is nearly 10, DD2 is 2 1/2, and we have Burble the beagle and Izzy the tonkinese cat rounding out the family.

    4. How are you feeling? I am cautiously optimistic and am waiting for the results of my blood draw from Friday. No spotting since Tuesday and my pregnancy tests keep getting darker (I know, it's not a reliable measure of my pregnancy, but I'm looking for positive signs wherever I can find them). Otherwise, I am bloated, tired, gassy (ah, the joys of pregnancy), and have crazy extra saliva.

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves? First ultrasound scheduled for two weeks from Monday, although the doctor may move that up a week depending on my hcg result. Raves: elastic waist pants! Awesome for bloat.

QOTW: Who has been the most supportive/understanding during your pregnancy?  IIf you are newly pregnant (and even if you aren't), how did you share the news with family and friends? We haven't told anyone yet because of my spotting earlier this week.  We may tell our family that is visiting this weekend, and will tell them after the ultrasound in two weeks otherwise.  My H has been wonderful.

@mellymar, we're big gamers too! (In case that wasn't obvious from my screen name).  What are you playing these days?  I'm still infatuated with Dragon Age: Inquisition.

  • How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?
23 weeks time is flying by really
    2. Age at delivery?
    42
    3. Any other children or fur babies?
    7 human children...also a couple furry ones
    4. How are you feeling?
Fine.  Some random indigestion and morning sickness
    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
    General monthly  appt next week

Rave...after many years of sleeping on a horrid bed and spending the past few years on the floor...husband finally broke down and said I could buy a mattress.  He was limiting my spending to 1,000 dollars but I knew that wouldn't happen once we went out....King bed of quality for 1,000...nope.  SO I over tripled that.  I was a stressful purchase.  Laying on bed after bed, pregnant, trying to decide what feels right for 2 minutes, confusing.  But it gets delivered next week so hopefully i made the right choice.

I barely had any capris or shorts for warm weather...if it ever arrives!! Stopped at Goodwill and was able to get a big bag of stuff and bonus all of them were the 1/2 off color!!  barely paid anyting for nice...some new....stuff

Rant...Now everywhere I go pretty much everyone makes a comment about me being ready to pop or due any day now....and then we have to have the convo about how I have many months to go!  Tired of being called "huge"!
    QOTW:
Who has been the most supportive/understanding during your pregnancy?
IIf you are newly pregnant (and even if you aren't), how did you share
the news with family and friends?
No one really pays attention to the fact that I am pregnant.  I guess they figure its pretty much a normal state of existance for me by now?

I didn't really tell anyone.  Mostly people were spreading it as rumor before I announced it or wanted it out in the open.  It just sort of got around.  The kids I told after my genetic testing came back.  Wanted to wait for that so in case something for surely was wrong it could be presented to them right away so they could be prepared for what was to come.  Nothing fancy there...just told me they would have a new brother this summer.
  • @FemShep I was looking at that screen name and avatar with a 'hey...wait a minute' vibe! Right now I'm working my way towards the end of Assassins Creed Rogue. Our Xbox One money got saved for Ewok, otherwise it would probably be AC Unity. Love that series of games. And never mind revisiting an old favorite, Fallout 3 or New Vegas. I can play those over and over and not get tired of them

I bled some on the exam table after my last cervix check.  I had a 'show' a couple of days after the check, not sure if it's related to the check.
Cervical checks may make you bleed.  You could tiny spot just momentarily or you could bleed much heavier for a few days.  By heavier I don't mean gushing but enough to make you use a light pad/liner and not something you would miss.  It can be "good" however.  It could mean that the check irritated your cervix enough that it will make it efface and dilate quicker.
  • 1. 29 weeks, 5/17, acorn squash

    2. 38

    3. A toddler and a dog

    4. I'm feeling large and uncomfortable. Also, very excited to meet this little squirt.

    5. Rant: Strangers keep saying I must be due any day now. No. I'm just huge, thanks for confirming its not just me. It makes me feel bad actually.
Rave: I passed the GD test!!!! Also, I just had a second meeting with the doula and I just love her. She brought over a Rebozo and showed me some techniques to do now and while in labor to alleviate hip and back pain. So awesome.

QOTW: Many people have been supportive of my pregnancy, but the most valuable I think has been my girlfriend who is due a couple weeks before me. It's her second also and she just gets it. We've talked a lot about our fears, our excitement, our guilt over less attention for #1, how our marriages have struggled since kids... It's just nice to be able to share all that with her.

    3. Any other children or fur babies?
    Three kitties

    4. How are you feeling?
Tired and hurting.  I am out of breath a lot.  Trying to keep up with the walking, but it just wears me out.  How am I gonna do this once I get to the third trimester?

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
No appointment til March 16.  Still haven't felt LO move too much.  I was pretty concerned yesterday, but am feeling better now.

QOTW: Who has been the most supportive/understanding during your pregnancy?  If you are newly pregnant (and even if you aren't), how did you share the news with family and friends?
Definitely my fiance.  He is very excited, and is trying to do all the right things.  He doesn't hit the mark all the time, but he usually does.  The aides in my classroom have also been great.
As far as sharing the news, we just called my parents on Christmas Eve.  We also told his sisters on Christmas eve.  Fiance asked to hold his nephew (who is six months old) and then asked the group, "So, how does this look?"  It took them all a minute, but they were super excited once they got it. :)

Much better however I am still fatigues, at times sad and have an increasing amount of headaches and tooth sensitivity.
    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
Tomorrow morning I am having CVS.  I am a bit nervous and hope I sleep tonight.  My first trimester screening indicated a 1 in 14 chance of downs syndrome and after careful consideration and discussion with my partner and the genetic counselor we chose this option.
QOTW: Who has been the most supportive/understanding during your pregnancy?  IIf you are newly pregnant (and even if you aren't), how did you share the news with family and friends?
My sister and boyfriend have been the most supportive during my pregnancy.  I am a FTM.  I have only shared the news with my sister, mother, cousin and best friend.  I wanted to get through the first trimester and screenings before sharing with anyone else.

Go for matern21 blood draw next week and NT scan on March 19th.. We should get Matern21 results on that same day plus find out the sex, fingerscrossed everything is ok. Other than that, the next two months at work are going to be insane, just started this job 5 months ago so I'm still in "prove myself" mode which isn't turning out to be too compatible with my first trimester. Unlike my first pregnancy, I'm finding my ability to focus is limited and I totally shut down at night.. I'm really nervous to tell them, I don't think they expected this when they hired a 42 yr old, but what can do, life happens!

My mother said she knew, she's been having dreams she was pregnant so she was certain I had some news for her, lol.. who knows!!!

I too, love all the movement - Its really cool!
A little annoyed today that the crib I picked out from IKEA is out of stock, probably for another 2 months. I'm not motivated to pick out another one, but would really like to get it checked off my list before I'm 36 weeks.
