Waking at night

Hi- my little one was a good sleeper until the beginning of December when he got a double ear infection. He was on medicine and the doc says his ears are fine now. However my son continues to wake up at least twice a night and it takes me about 1-2 hours to get him back in his crib. I've tried letting him cry it out for a bit, tried comforting him in his crib but nothing works. I don't know if it's a habit for him now waking up at night....I feel at this point it may be...any suggestion on how to correct it?

Re: Waking at night

  • Were going through the same thing. LO is getting in molars - one a couple weeks ago when this started and two more in the way (just poking out).
There is also the "18 month sleep regression" which I'm fairly certain we're dealing with.
Just one of those phases we have to gut through. Hang in there!

  • Thanks! When you are stuck in these phases they seem like they will never end!
  • We're not getting much sleep in these parts, too. In addition to DD2's teething (two molars and at least one canine) DD1 has been having nightmares.

The sleep changes really never end.

  • We went through a phase like this with DD a little while back. It sucks to be in the middle of it, but things should eventually get better. They did here, although she will occasionally still randomly wake up in the middle of the night. It's a toddler thing.

every word of this is true for us!! good luck!
  • Oh yes we are dealing with that too. Not sure exactly what's bugging him but it's been rough. No words of wisdom, just wanted to share that you're definitely not alone. I know it stinks. I'm just hoping I get a couple months of decent sleep before starting again with a newborn this August! Ahh.
