Anyone have a room ready?

I feel so behind but we have a room almost all cleared out and ready for paint curtains etc. we had to move my step son to another room. I feel like I should have a little more done at this point?! Just getting antsy! Plus the warm weather is nearing and I want to be outside not inside painting and putting a crib together

Re: Anyone have a room ready?

  • I just bought a house and am moving in 4 weeks. So nope........haven't done a thing. I'm guessing early May I'll finally have some time to set up a room. But we're moving so that the baby has a room bigger than a shoe box, so it's all worth it.

  • We do. But it's our second daughter so we had everything. There's still plenty of time.
  • We have the room painted. It's not cleared out or anything. It's still a spare bedroom. We have to rearrange our whole house so it's becoming a process. I'm not going to be concerned until probably the end of May.

Our room is painted and the crib is up. It is cleared for a glider and rug and any other furniture items we plan to get within the next 4 months. DH is very excited and is the one making all this happen! Bless his heart :)
  • We haven't done much. Just started emptying out the room. I am not worried still have plenty of time

I have absolutely nothing done what so ever. We just moved to our new apartment with an extra bedroom for the baby and just found out we will have to move again before the baby is born because my New Landlord is buggin. She lives under us and literally flipped out that while me and my husband were at work his mom was here at our house babysitting. She yelled at his mom. And called me flipping "Why is this woman here babysitting your kids, she don't need to be here" She made it very clear she now she doesn't want anyone here at my house except me and him. I also heard her complaining to her sons that when my husband's brother comes to visit he come and goes to much. So it will pose a HUGE HUGE problem when I have the baby and need a sitter certain days I work. And of course family likes to come see the new baby. Sooo idk what I am going to do.

Wow. That woman needs to rent to single loners with no life. I would flip my sh*t living by her and having her try to police me. Sorry that didn't work out.

  • Baby's room is currently DH's office. We're waiting until it's a little warmer to bribe all the men into coming over for beer and burgers on the grill so we can get all of his work furniture and equipment moved into it's new home in the basement, and then we'll get started on baby's room. We don't have any furniture or anything yet (though we know what we want), but even with being a FTM I don't feel a huge rush to get started on it. I still have 20 weeks to go!

You could definitely complain to your city's housing board about this. What she is doing is illegal

At this point you have more than we do. For some reason we thought we had more time than we do. Now that we hit the 20 week mark werealize we don't.

We still have to: clean out our garage and laundry room. Clean output backyard. Finish fixing our roof. Fix the living room ceiling. Clean out our room. Clean out the baby room, which is now used as an office/closet. Put in new carpet in both rooms. Paint the baby room. Brings in new furniture for the living room.

All this with the both of us working 12+ hour days lol. But at least we finished our registry today and printed our baby shower invitations lol.
  • Baby girl is getting our old room, so we've started moving our stuff to the new room. We bought paint, but haven't actually started painting yet. Crib is ordered from Amazon and is en route!

  • We know what room we are using but haven't done anything to it yet. And the nursery furniture is ordered. That's it.
  • If it makes you feel any better we are moving RIGHT after the baby is born. Overseas. I have no idea where we'll live yet. Probably won't find out until right before we leave. And it will take two-four weeks for our household goods to arrive. This is our fifth child though and we are all too familiar with change as DH is a service member :) .

  • We don't have much done either. Baby's room was a playroom/toy storage. We boxed all the toys that are not being used and moved some other things. But now there are 3 boxes in there that Ned to be put in storage. We picked out a paint color but have not painted. We have a crib but it's in the box in storage lol. So you are not alone....

  • @ChristyM87 O wow I didn't know you could do that.
  • We've just ripped out the carpet and trim, gonna repaint, lay new carpet and get new trim. My shower isn't til may so that's when it'll really start coming together.
  • I have a big pile of crap sitting in the soon-to-be nursery that my husband just needs to carry down to storage. It's only been there for a months or so.......
Hopefully once we have our anatomy scan (on Thursday!!!) he'll get a little jump start.
  • Haha we have the room pretty much cleared out, bought the paint, have a crib.. But we still have to paint & set everything up. I'm starting to get anxious about having it all set up and ready to go. Now that I'm halfway there, I'm ready to have everything in its place.
  • We are turning the office into the baby's room. We started slowly scaling down the stuff in there but need to take down ugly wood paneling and we want new lighting etc. I'm not stressing it yet, it probably would take a
Weekend to do the whole Job and paint. I ordered my furniture my in laws are storing it at their house until we are ready with the room
  • We have quite a bit done already but that is probably because of luck more than anything else. We moved into our house a little over year ago and knew that we wanted to start trying for kids in the near future, so we left the room we planned to use for the nursery empty. I painted it last summer when I was working on other painting projects so thankfully that is done already. Then my older sister decided to be a lifesaver and give us all her nursery furniture (she is done having kids) so we've had that stuff set up for a few weeks now! Still need to work on furniture arrangement and decide how to decorate though.
  • We have a room...but it's still full of clothes and stuff, as we were using it as a closet almost! You are way ahead of me!

We also are not planning on painting or doing anything that fancy. Wall decals, anyone?! ;)

Uhh, youre ahead in my book.
We move July 1st into a brand new place.!
Im due on the 21st. So I will have 2 weeks to get everything done. All baby stuff just goes into our storage unit for now.
(obviously I will just be directing everyone around and not doing a thing since I'll be about ready to pop!)
    Kinda stressful though.

  • Just an empty room for me. Debating when to start..

    DS1 7/24/15

    DS2 5/7/17

  • Haven't even started. In the process of buying a house so....hopefully middle of May or early June. If I could have it my way it would be already done. I get the ansty feeing completely
  • We don't. We're in an apartment so bit sure that I'll even do one :(
  • I can't wait to finish the room. I am one that does things ahead of time a lot though. We are FT parents so actually about a month ago be bought crib and glider which have been put together. I also have taped off the room for paint. I can't decide on bedding or I probably would have already painted. :)
I went to a friends last night that is due in May and she has not really even begun. I wouldn't worry! I just would rather space it out and do things early in case "life" happens. Like it always does :)
  • Our nursery is currently the office/ work area... And just has a pathway from desks! You all are way ahead of me! You're making me feel unprepared! Lol
  • Nursery I ready! Just waiting for my shower in May and baby to come in July!!!
  • I dont even know what crib I want yet time is going to quickly.

Nope. It's currently a junk room that needs to be emptied. We will be painting an accent wall and DS dresser. We have a few things to buy. But for the most part we have everything.

  • It's getting there the crib is up, there is a dresser and the play pen is in there right now but I also have a queen size mattress sitting on the floor basically taking up the whole room for my bestie who is finally coming to visit me and three years of being on this island.

  • Well...eventually we'll have the time to get our bedroom organized enough to squeeze a pack n play in there :)
We don't have a spare room for the baby. We're going to be moving about a month after the baby's born (yikes!). Hopefully baby will have their own room then, but no guarantees >.<
