Movement

Im a ftm, 30 weeks prego.. Ive noticed little one not moving as much or as hard as she used to the past weeks. My doctor doesn't seem concerned, and told me if im worried to do kick counts.. But it still makes me worry a little. Anyone else experience this??

Re: Movement

  • My movement varies so much day to day that it's hard to tell. Sometimes I get kicked and punched all day long, other days I just feel rolling movements. If your doctor isn't worried I'd try not to be either. As they're growing and changing positions it will make it feel different. Don't worry mama you'll worry enough when he/she arrives :)

  • I'm 26wks now but at 24wks, I wasn't feeling LO move as much either. I drank some cold water and laid on my left side, and LO would move some, or lay a heating pad on my stomach a few mins and he would move some that way also! I think he was having a lazy week because he's been kicking like crazy since!!
  • Definitely had those days. On Sunday and Monday I drove DH crazy with my worry that LO wasn't moving enough. We had our regular OB appointment on Tuesday and baby is healthy as per usual. Had my glucose test and LO was kicking up a storm after all that sugar.

I know it's hard - but try to relax. We all have our lazy days and baby is allowed to have them too. I haven't found counting kicks helpful, it stresses me out more than anything. But it doesn't hurt to give it a try and see if it calms your nerves :)

    I'm a FTM - 28 weeks.
  • My mw said weeks 28-30 are the peek of movements , after 30 its not so much that they move less, its just more restricted cuz they don't have as much room.

  • Ah im so glad its not just me! And I've been pretty lazy lately so i guess baby is allowed to have her lazy days too(; i also didn't even think about her running out of room and moving less. Thanks ladies!
  • I am 26wks 3 days today, my baby moves SO much and has done for about 10 weeks now - bigger more frequent movements the last few weeks. But last week the baby started to be a bit quieter and on Saturday i didnt feel him move at all - i tried all the usual, cold drinks, laying down - even a bit f proding, but nothing! i woke up sunday to him wriggling around again - i think babies just have lazy days sometimes, but it is very freaky when they do!
  • Yep mine certainly has her lazy days, I had a whole weekend of peace which was nice just the feeling of normality, I did start to worry the Sunday night but by Monday morning she made sure I knew she was there
  • 28 weeks tomorrow. And for some reason she isn't moving as much as she was before. I mean I'm sure she can have days where she wants to be lazy too, so I'm trying not to worry too much. After dinner last night I didn't feel her move. and this morning maybe like 11 times in a few hours. She's normally always on the go so its a big change it seems like. I'm really trying not to freak myself out about it though and remember that she has been perfectly healthy this whole time.
  • Hi MissRissx3: I can relate! I get really anxious when she's not moving much. I drink something cold and lean back on the couch. It usually is enough to get her going. You're a few days behind my due date. My baby has been very healthy, but doesn't keep me from going all "chicken little."

It's because baby is getting bigger and has less room to move about the farther along pregnancy gets. I've gone from strong kicks to more subtle movements or firm shifts/repositions/pushes with more occasional kicks
