Preeclampsia

I have type 2 diabetes and may be developing preeclampsia. I'm sitting in the hospital scared to death, I don't have anyone with me because husband has to be home with our toddler. Anyone else have these issues?

    Have they done a urine screen to check ur protein levels? I was in the hospital a mo ago for 4 days with a kidney infection and thought I may have had preeclampsia but they did a urine screen and ruled it out quickly. I had and still have swelling in my hands and feet and daily headaches. What are your symptoms that make you think you may have it?

    I did a 24 hour urine collection earlier this week and had protien in it. So this morning I was admitted to do another 24 hour urine collection. They've monitored my blood pressure thru out the day and it has been normal every time but twice was a little bit high

    My bp was always low when I was in the hospital. My kidney infection had gotten into my bloodstream. I hate you have to go through this alone. My hubby stayed with me in the hospital every nite or I would have been freaking out!! I'm a little worried that I'm getting preeclampsia now because I've had constant headache an dizziness since Tues and lots of swelling. I have an appt Monday but I'm still worried. I called on call OB and she told me to drink lots of water and take Tylenol. Not working so I'm def not feeling reassured.

    It is hard being here alone. I'm hoping I don't have to stay long. I haven't had any dizziness or swelling, only an occasional headache but nothing too bad. My bp has always been perfect, so it is a little unnerving.

    Was level of protein high in ur urine? So you don't really have any other symptoms of preeclampsia besides that? An occasional headache is normal and some swelling is normal. Doesn't necessarily mean preeclampsia so I wouldn't worry just yet!! I do know that it's very unnerving being somewhere like that alone. They should be able to tell you something very soon. They were able to tell me within the first 24 hours of being admitted that I didn't have preeclampsia but that was a mo ago. I am kind of worried about these new symptoms I'm having now tho!

    Hopefully they'll tell me in the morning that it's nothing major. My protien level was 300 the last time, but they said that could be normal because I'm diabetic. I'm not sure how high or low that is compared to a normal pregnancy. Hopefully yours will turn out to be nothing serious, too

    So far things aren't too bad. They've sent me home on bed rest. My BP was pretty good the whole two days I was in the hospital. It was normal every time they checke it but twice was around 130/70. All of my bloodworm came back good. I have to see the doctor twice a week now, and do a 24 hr urine plus blood work weekly. I'm only 27 weeks, so it's going to be a really long road ahead but it's worth it if everything turns out good! Doc said it's possible that it won't progress, so there's some hope of a happy ending :-) How are things with you @BabyShirah ?

    @catrudkin that's good to hear!! Are you feeling better? Did they ever confirm Pre-e or no? I bet you're glad to be home! Your bp sounds good so no worries there! I was admitted for 4 days and it was hell for me!! Anyways I still have the dizziness really bad and swelling in my legs, hands and feet, but not the headaches so much for the past two days!! I've gotta make myself drink more water!! Hateee it tho!! I'm 28 wks today and I envy all these women who ENJOY pregnancy!! I can normally take aches and pains pretty good (I have 25 piercings and 5 tattoos) but I swear this pregnancy has caused me more stress and worry than I'm used to!! Lol!! Those extra drs appts will be alot to deal with but it's better than you being stuck in the hospital for the rest of your pregnancy!! Hope things continue to get better for you!! :x

    I'm feeling ok other than the added stress at home now, DH is not very supportive at all. I'm the one who normally handles all the home things, cooking, cleaning, child care an such. So now he has had to pick up the slack and it's hard on everyone. I don't have pre e but my doctor is worried it will progress because I'm also diabetic. I'm not having any symptoms so we good so far. The swelling, aches and pains must be hard to deal with, maybe it will get better! Get lots of rest :) just a couple more months to go. We're gonna get through this <3

    Thats good news that it's not Pre-e yet!!! I'm sorry that DH is not very supportive!!! I think it's because pregnancy seems to drag out soooo long that they are excited in the beginning, but as time goes by, they just get kind of used to it and it's just another day to them!! They can't understand how stressful it is for us because we have to deal with the issues and stress DAILY!!!! I kind of feel the same, I CANNOT wait for May to get here...I'm soooo over being pregnant and DH is already wanting another after this one!! #-o

    You're probably right. This is my third baby, our 2ed child together and we're done. My other two pregnancies were a breeze and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. This little boy has changed my mind about things lol The girls were much more pleasant. I can't wait until May either!

    This is both mine and DHs first!! Ain't nuttn bt this whole thing been a breeze for me!! Maybe it's my age!?! But this is no fun!!! Already hospitalized once, on antibiotics for the rest of my pregnancy, dizziness is the WORST. Heat makes everything worse and it's 82 degrees today where I live!! I'm missing my normal 125lb weight! My brains in a fog! Lawd who can actually enjoy this mess!! I know in the end he will be worth it tho!!

    Lol where do you live?? It is 20 degrees and snowing heavily here in Kentucky lol. I think that age does have something to do with it, I was 20 with my oldest and it was perfect. 25 with only minor problems and now I'm almost 28 and this pregnancy is rough. The good news is that every pregnancy really is different, it's possible the next baby will be easier

    I'm jealous!! I want snow!! I live in SC, in the 80's today and 75 2moro. Hate this weather!! I would like to try for a lil girl but my luck I'd be sick and miserable again!! I'm 35 so I'm cutting it close girl!!
