NT Scan - Tech Convinced on Gender

Baby measured 12 weeks 4 days and is perfect! Tech shocked me by bringing up gender, this is my 5th pregnancy and I have never had anyone mention it this early. But the tech said baby's Legs were up and she is almost certain it's a boy! I won't go out buying blue this early but being i have no experience with the nub theory, anyone want to take a guess?

I have 3 daughters and my surrobaby was also a girl. I was fully expecting another girl lol

I have no idea if that's a boy or not but if I had to guess certainly looks like a little something between it's legs! I'm jealous I had my NT scan today 12 weeks/5 days and the sex wasn't even brought up!

This is the first time anyone has brought it up to me during an NT scan. She was just like "okay, this is too obvious not to say something ". She knew I wanted to know because she is the office tech and I saw her for my dating ultrasound And we chit chatted. It was just weird and i walked out of there stunned and not sure how to process the info lol

Isn't there a verify blood test everyone keeps mentioning to determine gender? Maybe you can get it to verify?

My doctors won't do anything like that unless your high risk. I have a gender ultrasound setup for 3 weeks from now!

I have seen alot of my friends and my sons ultrasounds that most definitely looks boy to me ! I am interested to see what you will be having for sure,keep us updated on this! I was with my best friend at her 12 week ultrasound and she found out she was having a boy then. I have my next apt on Wednesday ill be 13 weeks 3 days ill be for sure looking

My tech showed us a nub and said all babies at 12 weeks have it. Hopefully you get the boy if that's what you'd prefer!

Yep they all have nubs! But there is a theory, nubs that point down or are even with the spine are a girl and ones that point upward are boys. It's said to be over 90% accurate between 12 and 14 weeks if you get a good side profile nub shot! But I have no experience reading nubs! lol

The nurse techs have usually seen a lot so I generally trust what they say. With the NT scan for my last pregnancy I was 13wks and she said she was 1000% sure it was a boy. I was still skeptical and didn't announce anything until we got our blood test results 3 weeks later. But she was right!

My fingers are crossed that they can tell at the NT test this time bc our insurance doesn't cover the blood test anymore and I have to wait until the 21wk u/s in May to find out!

Awww I had three girls first, before having a boy. I kept referring to him as "her" and "she" after he was born because I was so used to girls lol!

I had my NT today too. I am 13w2d. The tech said that it is too early to tell for sure. 15 weeks maybe, at my 19 week ultrasound, definately.

Congrats! I found out with my first son at NT scan. I think I was 12 1/2 weeks. Everyone was shocked that we found out so early !

@OliverSweet that's exactly what my son's 12 week US looked like! The tech couldn't confirm 100%, but she felt confident letting us know she thought it was a boy and after the doctor reviewed the images he agreed. Looks like you've got a sweet baby boy on the way! Congrats! I hope to see the same thing again next week.

Same thing happened to us! Got my NT scan Tuesday at exactly 13 weeks. The ultrasound tech and my doctor are both pretty convinced it's a boy! Of course they couldn't 100%confirm for a few weeks, but I'm excited!

I had my nt and she said it might be a boy but didn't say why. Eeeeek! Hoping we all get what we secretly hope for!!! ( and healthy) ps, your images are a lot clearer than mine!
