Double Stroller Recommendations

Hello July mommies!

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for tandem double strollers for an older toddler and an infant. My son will be be 4.5 by the time Baby Brother is born, so he won't be in a stroller much longer....I was looking at phil&ted's Navigator stroller which can be made into a double then back to a single. Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Double Stroller Recommendations

  • Take a look at the City select stroller.  It too has the option of being both double and single.  You can also buy a "surfboard" attachment so when you older one doesn't want to be in the stroller he can still hitch a ride

  • I highly recommend the graco ready2grow- it has like 12 different seating options, and it designed in mind for older children too.

  • I've had many double strollers (5 total - 2 diff graco, bobs, P&T, joovy caboose) and my absolute favorite was my Phil and Teds classic. My older child was 3-4 years old when we had it and she loved jumping in the back seat while my smaller child enjoyed being in the front. It was super convenient, easy to navigate in stores shopping, easy to close and open and comfy for the kids. I switched last year to a side by side bobs stroller after being talked into trying one of the other girls at stroller strides and I totally agree that it was much easier to push and steer while working out; however, that was the only benefit over the Phil and Ted's. It's super wide and I can't take it shopping at all. I'm so bummed I sold my P&T's and will be looking all over craigslist and yard sale sites for another when this babe arrives!!
    Good luck!
  • Following this!
  • The britax b ready can be used as both a double or a single. Very smooth ride tho a bit bulky
Both conceived using 7.5 mg Femara+Ovidrel+IUI

Which Graco ones did you have? I am looking at the Graco FastAction Fold Duo LX Click Connect stroller (link below) mainly because it has the click connect carseat attachments built in making it easy to use with the carseat we already have. I have read mixed reviews about it so I was curious to see if you had any experience with it.

Ooooo that one looks really nice! I had the tandem ones - the Duo Glider and the Quatro Tour. Just really tough to maneuver and took up a lot of space when folded in trunk.

I'm HUGE on reviews when buying almost everything and with this one you're looking at it looks fairly newer? I can't find many reviews and the ones I did find weren't great at all - link below (but there weren't many and I don't like when there are so few...)

I saw those reviews and they made me think twice, that's one reason I asked. Amazon only had 9 reviews total but they seemed to be mostly favorable. I think it is a newer model so there aren't as many people to review it.

That's good that Amazon's were more favorable. As long as you can get your hands on it and test it out to see if it's what you're looking for, I think you're in good shape! Also - in those reviews a few people mentioned a 90 day return policy, so even better!
  • Hi, I was wondering if you went ahead and bought this?  I just bought it at Buy Buy Baby but they recently updated their return policy and I hear that they're being really strict about what you can return.  I was going to test it out, but now I'm scared that if I don't like it they won't take it back.  I also have a Baby Jogger City Select, but I feel like it's a pain to constantly put it together and take it apart.  That being said, I'll keep the city select for times that I know I'll need a tandem instead of a side-by-side. I fell in love with the parent console/storage/large seats for the kids on this stroller but I'm worried that it's going to be a beast to push around.

  • Personally I wouldn't bother and choose a buggy board and single pram instead. My DD1 was 3.5 when DD2 came along and she was just fine! At first I packed a sling in case she got tired and could put baby in that but never had to use it. Most prams for multiples seem to have some flaws- the tandems are never great and side by sides are massive. Unfortunately DD2 will be 22 months when DS arrives :-( we have chosen the bugaboo donkey duo x
  • LOVE the City Select! Got it off Craigslist for $300. Love a good deal. And it is a smooth ride. 3.5 us old loves it. He will be 4 just after the baby gets here and plan on getting the board when he's too big for the seat.
  • My first two were 15 months apart. I started with the Britax B Ready which I adored but my daughter despised! I think she just didn't enjoy sitting in the back. I then purchased the City Mini double GT, which both kids enjoyed. Both strollers are great but my preference was always the Britax, it moved so smoothly and was very easy to close and open. I'm pregnant with my third and will most likely purchase a Britax single when the time comes. Good luck in your search.
