Nesting

I am so exhausted and sore, but I can't stop cleaning, organizing, scrubbing, sanitizing, REorganizing.. I keep trying to stop and relax, but this little voice whispers, "just this one more thing.." Is anyone else already nesting?

Re: Nesting

  • All the time! Especially our bathroom. For some reason that is my focal point lol.

  • I walk to work so DH uses shared vehicle majority of the time...it could definitely use a good scrub down. Been obsessing about cleaning, getting oil changed, etc before baby comes.

Yes, I have turned into a mini Martha Stewart! One weekend I spent a whole day washing the walls... the walls! But, I just want everything to be so, so clean! Now I usually clean every single day (when before it was closer to once a week), and the nursery is all set up. I am resisting urges to wash the clothes or diapers, because I figure that will be a good activity in April closer to the due date.

  • I want to nest sooo bad! but I have to wait until after this weekend. My in laws are coming to stay and the baby's room is currently our spare bedroom. Once the inlaws are gone I'm going gang busters and will get everything set up and decorated hopefully! Our spare bedroom will move to the basement bedroom, so I also have to organize in there as well!

  • We just moved into a new house that is a lot bigger than the apartment we moved out of. It's hard to tell if it's "nesting" or just a general need to get every room looking homey and complete. Last night I bought 4 lamps and a side table at Home Goods. We've painted the nursery, but haven't ordered any furniture yet. I've started to collect decorative pieces for the nursery though. I'm obsessed with this mobile that I got on Etsy. image

I've totally been nesting. Organizing and cleaning everything (driving the hubby nuts). Also - awaiting a mobile I ordered on Etsy too. I was going to get a bedding set- but was able to find what I wanted on Amazon MUCH cheaper. Trying to only get really unique things off of there- I've been obsessed lately.
  • Nesting started about a week or so ago. I think I'm driving my husband crazy with wanting everything in its place and having the house clean before we go to bed at night. We've also started getting the baby's room ready. We ordered the crib and have been buying little things here and there. Our next project will be fixing the bassinet that my grandfather made. It's 60+ years old and just needs new hardware, then we will be purchasing the mattress, sheets, and liner.
  • I am in over drive right now! I am trying to unpack, organize and fix all the rooms in our house we just moved in. Not to mention clean the place from top to bottom! Then I can finally start on the baby's stuff! It's driving me nuts I haven't started on it already.

  • I want to repaint almost every room in our house but every time I bring it up, H just nods and smiles at me like I'm a crazy person. We also have nothing set up or bought for our nursery room and I'm getting anxious about that but H thinks we should wait until the baby shower. I'm not having that until I'm 8 months though and I'm worried about if baby comes early! For everything else, I just end up getting too tired and before I know it, I've been on the couch watching Netflix for 3 hours...
  • I'm almost 30 weeks pregnant and I've started nesting, I'm having all rooms painted and just organizing and throwing out etc... I wish I had this urge / energy all the time... Haha
  • It just hit me yesterday that I'm at this stage! Started organizing closets and sorting baby clothes to wash, though I won't until closer to our due date. DH is going to build a shelf system for the closet in the nursery and I'm itching to get it painted and put together so I can organize the rest of the nursery.
This is a million times better than the past 2 months. We went on vacation to Florida in January and still hadn't unpacked or moved our suitcase from next to the front door as of a week ago!
  • I want to nest SO bad, but we are still under construction. HOWEVER, it looks like my husband will be finished this weekend, which means that I'll move out of the house for a week because of the stain (fumes) and nesting can officially begin. So excited. This has been a LONG 4+ months.
  • I want to start so bad too but we haven't moved into the house yet. We don't get the house till April 6th and the due date is May 5th. I think I might go crazy by then. I haven't even bought anything for him yet because there is no space :(

I also ordered a dream catcher mobile from the same etsy shop!!! She does such amazing work, it was definitely a splurge but I LOVE it. I can't wait for the tepee I ordered off etsy to arrive.
  • I haven't started on the baby's room because we have a bunch of house guests coming on this month and it's easier to keep that room set up as a guest room... But since I'm not working on the baby's room, I have redirected my energy to other projects that weren't even that necessary like repainting all our bathrooms this weekend and installing all new hardware just because I wanted a change, and reorganizing the kitchen, pantry, basement workshop, and closets.... I'm exhausting myself for no reason but I'm guessing this nesting instinct just can't be ignored.
  • My husband thinks I'm crazy because we have a few months left, but on my own I've painted the nursery, painted the dresser, put together the crib, and washed all the clothes and organized the closet. This is my second baby (and second husband) and no matter how many times I explain it, he doesn't get it that I want to get it all done now while I have the energy. I know it fades fast in the 3rd trimester. Plus if he did it all because I was too tired and achy, he'd just get mad anyway because I'd hover and try to direct. Might as well do it all myself early and be happy because it's to my standards! I think it's an exciting project so I'm not complaining :)
