Am I having a Miscarriage?!

Hubby and I went in to hear heartbeat on Monday 2/23 and ultrasound showed nothing even after trying vaginally. The tech could not locate a sac. Doc said to get HCG quantitative tests done over 48 hours. On Monday they were 29442 and on Wed they were 26556. They told me on Tuesday that after finding out the number on Mon that it was high and I have another ultrasound at a different clinic scheduled tomorrow. I've been crying off and on first after not seeing a baby, and now after declining HCG levels. LMP was 12/24 so I expected to be a 9 weeks by now and to not see anything on the ultrasound Monday was terrifying. Nurses that called today said that the levels dropping were indicative of a miscarriage. Has anyone had this happen and it was NOT a miscarriage?

I am sorry you are going through this. The Hcg trending down does signal that you maybe going through a miscarriage. Your numbers should be going up. I had a miscarriage last fall at 6.5 weeks. I had some bleeding that was light for 3 days and progressively went from pink to red. They did a transvaginal ultrasound and it did not show anything at that time. They drew my Hcg levels that day along with progesterone and repeated the text two days later. My Hcg showed that I was pregnant but the levels trended down between two days. My progesterone was too low to support a pregnancy. The following day after the ultrasound I definitely miscarried. I was an emotional wreck and it was not a fun experience so my heart and prayers are with you. Each woman is different, but I think those numbers should be increasing. Praying for you.
  • You are not alone. I'm going through the same thing. If you would like to chat please let me know x keeping you in my prayers x
  • Praying for you and baby!!
  • My LMP was 12/26, and am actually going through a similar situation except my HCG stayed exactly the same. The doctor I spoke to today said she has had a similar situation to yours in the past and everything went fine. I was really scared and she told me that story and I am back on the positive train. I hear Monday about my next set of HCG levels and all I can say is don't stop believing! Keep faith until you know for sure mama! That's what everyone is telling me, and I hope to share with you! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!
  • Ps just because your LMP was 12/24, you may be earlier is your ovulation schedule tweaked. That's what I am praying for too!
  • Sorry you're going through this. Thoughts and prayers for you, and hopes you'll catch your rainbow soon (if that's what you desire).
