I'm due in July and will not be finding out gender until birth. I'm having real trouble with a girl name. I'm a fan of classic names, and I like trendy names as well, but I'm trying to find something that won't be particularly common in her age group either. Our boy name is Dax, and I love names that start with S or D. Her middle name will be Lynette, and my last name starts with an S, is two syllables, and ends in the German -baugh sound. It's not an easy surname for pairing!
So far I have really liked Sienna, Dinah, and Jenna, but nothing has "clicked" yet! Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
@brita722 I love Diana and have been considering it for awhile now, I've just been afraid of it being a little dated. I also never considered Shannon, thanks for suggesting it.
@wassuphoes I like Shana a lot as well. Too bad I'm a Samantha, I've always loved my own name! Haha.
I love the name Diana and wanted to use it for our girl, but my bf said it reminded him of a family member he doesn't like. However it is a great name. And I would rather have a little dated than super popular tbh.
If your name is Samantha, a lot of good S names will be somewhat rhymey with yours (Sabrina, Selena, Susannah, etc.), but if that doesn't bother you, you have some great options. What about Stella? I love it but it may be getting too popular.
And for D names... Diana, Dana, Delia, Dahlia, Delilah, Danielle, Daniela
@4247040 I love Dahlia and it was my forerunner, but my sister keeps pronouncing it wrong and that's started to really piss me off so I put it on the back burner.
Dinah is kind of cool, not very common. Suggestion, I wouldn't use Jenna...it's also a little dated, very 80s/90s to me, I know many...just if that's what you're trying to stay away from.
