The dark (arm) pits of hell!

Anyone noticed all of a sudden your arm pits are dark? Not only my arm pits, but my neck and probably cooter as well. I feel so unattractive, I sure hope this goes away after baby comes because it makes me look like I don't wash myself! You think some kind of whitening soap would help?

  • I have noticed this too. Thankfully, my fiance has not (or at least has not mentioned it). I don't like it, but there doesn't seem to be much I can do about it. I just continue to put body butter under there and hope for the best.

This is my first baby, by the way.
  • My elbows are a lot darker than normal. It is really weird but it went away pretty soon after delivering my first so I am not too worried this time around.

  • My younger brother asked if I was wearing make up this one day, and started trying to rub the "make up" off my neck. I wasn't wearing any make up. :(

My first baby too. I hope it doesn't stay for that longer after birth, I would like to be able to wear tank tops without having to worry about dark arm pits.
  • There is whitening soap?! :|

  • It went away after I had my son, took maybe two weeks. My neck and arm pits got dark too :( it was annoying but back to normal now. After I had ds I started using a deodorant by Dove that helps with discoloration and I believe it helped the process move a little faster
  • I have dealt with this with both pregnancies and it is so frustrating. It does go away shortly after baby arrives.
  • Thank you ladies for making me feel normal about such an ugly thing.
  • this is currently happening to me. I didn't notice until one of my nieces innocently asked "why is it gray underneath your arms" :) hope it goes away!
  • Same thing here.. Pretty gross I do not want to wear tank tops lol ... It could be worse though so can't complain to much
  • In Spanish, it's called paño. My aunts, mother, and mother in law all swear by placing some of the babies pee on all the dark spots and they go away in record time. They all did it. My mom said she got it bad around her neck and face and the pee took it away in a few days. My sister didn't do it when she had her daughter and she still has the paño around her neck and armpits, her daughter is now 15!!
