Hi
Mommies & soon 2 be mommies! I was wondering how has getting pregnant/
having a baby effect your relationship with your significant other? I have been
with my fiancé for a total of 7 years, (since I was 14). So I’m very much use
to it being just me&him. We are TTC and I have been having a lot of
thoughts on how that is going to affect our relationship. Any advice? Good?
Bad? I know everyones situation is different but I would love to hear how having
a baby has effected your relationships

This is good advice. Obviously timing is important for TTC, but trust me from experience, if sex becomes another chore to do, your relationship will suffer. When it comes to actually bringing a new person into the world, you might be pleasantly surprised by how much this can bring you together as a couple. Taking care of a baby is hard and you will probably fight more than you did before, and you will have to find ways to work through this, but you will also value the little things and the times you get alone together so much more. Before we had a baby, every night was date night and while we enjoyed each other's company, it was hard to pull off "special" anymore. Now the odd time we get a sitter and go out we have the best time! It's like we've taken years off and we're dating again! Even just those couple of hours of adult time after baby goes to bed are so nice. Your SO becomes the other adult you can relate to in your life full of baby chaos. It's hard to explain, but having a baby is like taking on a challenge together and coming together to face it can really make you appreciate each other more.27alex said:Do not schedule sex. It's much more enjoyable that way.

Everyone is different, having a baby doesnt stop you from enjoying life, and if someone thinks that it does or will then they probably shouldnt have a baby until their mindset has changed.
They have been together for 7 years, I say go for it! Good luck
