Doula and Insurance

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone had experience with getting their insurance to cover some of the expense for a Doula? Specifically, CDPHP? I would love any and all advice. TIA

    I live in the Buffalo area and have Independent Health, and no luck unfortunately :( They said it wasn't considered "medically necessary." Until insurance companies get on board with the amazing-ness of doulas, I recommend adding it to your baby registry!
