Nausea w/ NO Vomiting Club

6w6d; consistent nausea but no puking yet! Anyone else feel the puking lurking around the corner? I'm just enjoying the lack of it now but it also worries me a little. Let me know how far along you are and your thoughts :)

  • That was my whole pregnancy (first trimester) with my son. All nausea, no vomiting.

So far it's looking like a repeat of that this time. I feel constantly queasy, but no vomiting.

  • I'm just curious if I go the whole 1st tri with no MS am I in the clear? I was holding my breath for the "Week 6 Pukathon" but it never came.

  • I'm at 8 weeks 4 days and this is me. No vomiting but nausea almost all day. Sometimes I feel like I will but it doesn't happen. Sometimes I wish I would because somehow I think it would make me feel better momentarily (though it probably wouldn't).
  • I'm in the same boat. Nauseated, tired, but no puking yet. I gagged pretty hard after brushing my teeth one morning and I threw up some water...sorry, I know TMI...but that is all so far. I keep waiting for it to kick in...maybe it will, maybe it won't. Sometimes I would probably feel a little better if I could throw up. But for now, I guess I'll just consider us lucky in the nausea dept.
  • It is the worst!  I went through this with my son and it started at about 6 weeks and ended at 14 weeks.  This time around I knew I was pregnant before I even missed my period.  The nausea is horrible and in full effect!

  • I've had a few times that this has happened, but overall pretty tame. If you're eating regularly, it helps keep it at bay!

  • I am exactly the same!!  6w6d and haven't thrown up once...but UGH - the nausea!!!  I have always had a bit of a sensitive gag reflex, but that has gotten even worse; I seem to be constantly gagging in addition to the nausea.  Sometimes I wonder if the nausea might lessen if I could throw up...but at the same time, I hate throwing up...so I guess I will deal....

I'm so nervous about something happening to my baby (rather high-risk), so in some ways I do count the nausea as a blessing - I figure as long as I'm sick, that should mean I'm still pregnant!

  • Same here. It comes and goes but it's not a fun feeling.

  • I just started feeling like this too, not full blown throwing up but this gag like reflex and severe nausea. Nothing seems to help, like it just has to run its course. I tried lollipops, ginger ale, lemonade, but still feeling awful. I hope it goes away eventually..
  • I don't know what's worse, constant nausea all day and can't puke or puking a few times a day and feeling ok the rest of the time.

  • I get off and on nausea all the time and very thing smells soo horrible. My husband made chicken last night and I had to go for a drive till the smell left the kitchen/house I couldn't handle it!!

My husband has a thing with cooking chicken in butter with spices. The combo makes me gag and the only way to escape it is to sit outside in the cold. I don't think he realizes how much the smell affects me.

  • This is me too. Ugh. Sometimes I feel like I'm ok while I'm actually eating, but as soon as I'm done eating, the nausea comes back!
  • You could try getting on a plane. I had managed to have puke free morning sickness until I got motion sickness from the descent yesterday and made good use of a barf bag.
  • I was in the same boat before week 7, when day one of the 7th week came, I started throwing up. I am in my 8th week, thowing up around 6 times a day, this really sucks
  • @spraklepea‌ do you get sick every morning now?
    BabyFetus Ticker
  • I'm at 7w6d (approximately) and have been naucious everyday for the last 2 weeks! Luckily no vomiting, but I'm not sure which is worse?!
  • I was really sick one day, but have been doing an Epsom salt bath or foot soak each night and it has since gone away.
  • Magnesium really helps. I second the Epsom salt foot baths. I also have magnesium lotion.
  • I'm glad that I'm not the only one...

  • 6 weeks 3 days nausea if I don't have something on my stomach. Crackers and tums help. The dry heaving is the worst...no vomit yet though!
  • While pregnant with my son I had the same thing. No throwing up, just nausea. What worked great for me was lemonade and sucking on hard candies.

Third for this! My husband makes chicken with salsa in the crockpot and it smells in the house for days. He doesn't get it. Stop making it! It's disgusting.

I was the same way with my son. All nausea no vomiting. It's very common actually. Just TV amplifies the vomiting ha. So we think we should be.
  • Anyone else hear that if you were taking prenatals 6 months or more prior to getting pregnant that it prevents a lot of sickness? I've been on mine for over a year and am wondering if this is why I feel so good at 6wks!?
  • I feel the exact same way.  With my first child, I never had any sickness.  This time around, I'm severely nauseous every day but not throwing up... I keep thinking I may feel better if I make myself, but haven't yet for fear it might be worse!
  • For some reason water makes me nauseous. I thought at first it was because I hadn't eaten but I am making sure to eat throughout the day and anytime I pick up water I feel like I am going to hurl everywhere. I am used to drinking water all day so I'm not sure why the water would be making me sick ... anyone else have problems with this?
  • I'm 7 weeks today and feel extremely nauseous in the mornings and randomly throughout the day. I feel terrible when I smell deli meat. My boss told me to try sucking on a peppermint to help. Haven't tried it yet. Has anyone else?
  • @Knottie96391996‌ I have a tin of peppermint Altoids Smalls and they work really well. The peppermint cuts the nausea in half for a little while. I eat them all day.

  • Doubt it I was taking mine for a few months and I'm still on the nasuea train
  • I am also 6wks 6dys and omg this nausea is awful! I don't remember it being this way with my first. I'm sick from the moment I wake up until the moment I shut my eyes. But no vomit! So strange!
  • My nausea was terrible! Nothing compared to my first 2 pregnancies. I talked to my doctor about it and then we found out I was having twins...so no wonder!! He gave me a sample of medicine called Diclegis. I take it at night before bed and I have felt so much better! I'm not sure if it helps with vomiting, but it's worth a call to the doc if you're feeling so miserable you can't get through the day! Good luck, mommas!!
  • The gas and constipation make me feel sick more often than the nausea! But they feel kind of the same and just makes things worse.

  • Yeah I took prenatals for a whole year before I got pregnant and I'm nauseous every day to varying degrees. Haven't thrown up yet (I'm at 6w6d) but sometimes I wish I would- maybe I could feel better for at least a short time then! Haha
  • I'm 6 weeks and I'm nauseous on and off all day but have not threw up yet...Thank god!!

I heard that from a friend too. Also my doctor recommended lemon drops. I haven't tried either but I an using fire jolly ranchers. They help but don't stop the nausea. Also ice water helps me. I sip it all day. Also carbs help me too.
  • Yep....I'm 6wks 5days and I feel so sick. I'm constantly complaining to DH about it. I go back to work after two weeks off (snow days & school vacation) and I'm dreading it!! Teaching/entertaining 15 1st graders feeling like this is NOT going to be easy :(
  • Oh no if the constant nausea is a sign of twins then my FIL really did jinx me. I need an US asap to prove him wrong!

  • I've had the same problem with all 3 of my pregnancies. I almost feel like it would be a relief to puke. I hope yours passes quickly!
