baby bumps and being overweight.. When did you see yours?

This is my first pregnancy and I'm currently 21 weeks. I know I have a bump cause I can feel it and everything is sticking out more than it used to, but it doesn't look like a perfect pregnancy bump :(. It's hard seeing my tiny cousin and all of her baby bump photos cause she's tiny and actually looks pregnant, don't get me wrong she looks adorable just hard to look at myself in the mirror after seeing her pics each week. I'm just curious when people started rounding out and showing more? I have the uh rolls lol so i kinda have a bump but it to isn't filling in yet in the middle... I was in the middle of losing weight when I found out we are expecting I was 285 at conception.

Re: baby bumps and being overweight.. When did you see yours?

  • I was 277 at conception and I've lost weight since. I'm 269 now. Still not showing at all yet at 20wks but my lower tummy definitely feels firmer. I feel like I'll "pop" in a few weeks

  • I was approx 275ish with my first child and I know how you feel. Looking at pictures from my first pregnancy I didn't notice a "bump" til I was 6 months
  • Mine seems to be the same way. It's weird my man just says it's my body preparing to pop I just wish it would happen already. Under my belly button is where I can feel my bump but over is where is seem to have popped a bit but the middle needs to fill I'm already lol
  • Damn 6 months huh well a month a week to go :/ lol thanks for the replies ladies
  • I'm 245 and can tell I'm rounding out a little. But I'm also jealous of the cute little baby bumps. If people didn't
Know I was pregnant they would just think I looked fat.
  • I broke 300 the other day unfortunately but this is my bump if I wear pants a certain way to shape it.
  • I'm currently 250, and 20 weeks. I still do not have a bump yet. I just look fatter, my upper stomach is firm, but I don't feel like I look pregnant. I can't wait til I pop! :(

  • I was 210, but found that a belly band helps sculpt the belly. I got the target beband.
  • I was 250 when I conceived. I had just lost 30 pounds so it's hard to see myself gaining and gaining. I'm 17 weeks 4 days and I've gained like 13 pounds. It's not like I eat much more than I did before, so it's hard to handle sometimes. I started showing at like 15 weeks. Now, obviously it kind of looks like my fat just got pushed out, but people know.

  • I was about 165 when I got pregnant. I'm 20 weeks and about 15 lbs heavier. I've always had a flabby tummy and a lower "pooch" no matter how hard I've tried to get rid of it over the years. Now my top roll is WAY bigger that the lower pooch. I so want to have a nice round belly! My clothes, even the maternity ones look terrible on me, and people who don't know me or haven't seen me in a while can't even tell I'm pregnant - just flabby! I want to proudly show off my bump but it just looks awful, even with the belly bands. I feel awful because I'm so excited to be pregnant and it seems selfish to be upset about something so superficial. But, I can't help it.

I was 240 at conception I wan 20 + 4 and in the last week or two I started rounding out and showing. I can tell and the people who are normally around me. But I'm pretty sure either just look fat and not pregnant to strangers.
  • I was around 210 when I got pregnant now I'm 215 ; and it's noticeable buttttt it's not perfectly round i didn't have a flat stomach but I wasn't pudgy either everyone is different , comparing yourself which we all tend to do isn't good just enjoy the ride that's what everyone tells me ! 8-}
  • I never got a regular baby bump with my first pregnancy. The middle never fully filled out. (Pic included of my belly at 36 weeks from last time!). I'm sure it'll be that way with this one, too. I have serious bump envy!!
  • Glad to hear I'm not alone! I'm having a hard time with this gaining weight. A year and half ago I was 320lbs had gastric bypass surgery and lost 120lbs ! When I conceived I was up some weight. So I started at 209. Lost some and now is about 216. I can feel that I have the bump but I look more fat than anything! I too just want that perfect bump!

I was 298 at conception, and have not gained any weight yet, but my tummy has started rounding out and starting to look more like a bump.

  • Ya I have a B shaped bump. The middle is (finally) forming every day. I'm hoping the B turnes into a D very quickly.
  • I started showing at 14 weeks but my weight was never really in my stomach it was even all over. I started at 241 and lost 10 lbs
  • I understand what you are saying! I was 175lbs when I conceived. (I'm 5'1) I'm 18 wks today. I have lost weight not gained anything. I of course eat all the time! But I don't see any sign of a "bump". This is my second one. With my first I lost weight as well but I was only 150 then (she's 9). But with her, I had a small bump at this point.
  • I was 202lb when conceived I'm now 17+5 days and I weigh 186 lb I still don't have a noticeable bump people who dont no me think I've just put on weight I had a perfect bump with my first so hard being second time round and fatter as I've always been so self conscious :(
  • Well hopefully in the next month all us ladies are enjoying our Bumps :). It's definitely rough when you see all these perfect round bumps and I have a B *sigh* oh well hopefully it comes
  • Im also 21 weeks and cant wait for a bump also my 1st my weight is 149 and no sign of a bump still im anxiously waiting :)
