April 2014 Moms

What are you all up to today?

Good Saturday morning everyone,

What's everyone got planned for the day?

This morning my DH is going to a soccer referee class to renew his license for the year. The kids and I might run out to do some errands. It will depend if my DS is feeling better. We had some tummy trouble here yesterday. I would prefer to not have to deal with a nasty diaper in public or get the car seat dirty.

This afternoon we have a company coming over to give us a quote for windows. We have absolutely horrible windows and unfortunately we have like 16 or 17 that need to be replaced.

Then tonight as long as DS is feeling better (fingers crossed) my DH and I get to go out for a much needed date!

Have a great day, everyone, and stay warm (or enjoy your weather if it's nice)!!!

  • They are calling for more snow here, so hoping to get out to get some errands done early. Then just spending the day at home cleaning. Have fun on your date!

  • @AnnH74 man that sounds like a crazy day!

Today I am working until 4 and then I rush home, shower and head over to DH's company party. I used to dread these but tonight I am looking forward to it a little bit. For some reason everyone he works with thinks I am the greatest thing since sliced bread which I am definitely not used to, but I could use a little ego boost. Not to mention, its a casino night so basically we gamble using chips purchased with gift cards and at the end of the night everyone gets a gift card back, so its a way of gambling without losing anything.

  • MH is working. Just rocking LO down for morning nap. Hoping to get out for a little while before it is time for afternoon naps, even if we just got for a drive. If hubs gets done work in time, we will be having dinner at a friend's house tonight.
  • I'm t work till 5:30. If the snow doesn't cancel it we have a church party tonight at 6.

  • I am getting hair cut and colored in a bit, then we were supposed to have lunch at my moms with my brother that is in town visiting. Our kids have been sick the past few days with stomach bug and now it seems colds and I feel a cold coming on so we cancled for lunch as the kids are still pretty miserable. DH and I were supposedto have a much needed date night out to dinner then maybe a movie and or meet up with some frinds for a drink....playing that by ear depending on how the kids are doing and how I feel.
  • @LolaX2, I really hope you get your date night tonight! Sounds like you really deserve it!

  • Not much of anything here... It's cold out! If it was ten degrees warmer we'd go for a hike or something. I'm trying to think of cheap or free places to go indoors. I'm not a mall person, I only go if I need something.
  • I don't think we're doing anything today. It's snowing and it's the perfect excuse to stay home. I'm hoping to squeeze a workout in later!

  • Mom was in town for the past couple of days but leaves today. I think we're going out to breakfast the. Nap time (hopefully, day four of nap training). Then continuing to get settled. Spend sometime with DH his work has been crazy the past two days and I haven't seen him at all it feels like.
  • I just meet up with 4 different mommas and gave them some of my breastmilk I can't use for my LO. I gave away about 700oz :) feels good!
  • Work till 4. Boo :-q

My friend is an oversupplier so once my supply decreased drastically, she started giving me her extra milk. It felt a little weird at first but she and I are close so I trusted where it came from. Unfortunately her supply recently decreased so she no longer has extra.

No I didn't! I am on a local parent FB group and I posted I had a lot of milk and asked if anyone wanted some. It was amazing how many people are interested! This makes 6 people that I have donated milk to and I have 2 more that would like some.
  • DH is working until 2 or 3. Otherwise we are having a nice relaxing day at home. When DH gets home, I'm hoping to get some organizing done. I know, very exciting! But it's nice because last weekend was crazy busy. The only real thing we want to do is tomorrow meet my aunt for lunch and then go to a local consignment shop to pick up some toys for her house since she watches LO 2-3 times a week.
  • We ended up going out for a late lunch. Why is it that my LO gets offered crayons all the time when we go out?
  • Went to the mall and TArget with LO , my sister and mom. Now debating if I want to go out later for a friends birthday...... It's way too cold out, seriously ready for spring already!
  • @Talltrees82‌ I went to a place today and they gave her a kids menu with colored pencils....
  • Ugh date night is cancled between the really nasty weather here and sick really cranky kids we are stick in. Gaaaaahhhh my 3 year old is driving me nuts crying and throwing fits over every little thing. Deep breath and remind myself that he is sick and not normally like this. It has been a day, that's for sure.

I'm with you on the cancelled date night. Boo. I was so looking forward to it. DS has a tummy bug and didn't want to spread it to the sitter. Thankfully he's actually still napping-yes at 6:05 at night. He might be slowly waking up at the point. I wonder what that's going to do for bedtime????
  • Yeah I was really looking forward to a datenight. I get away for a bit for to get my hair cut and colored (had already rescheduled that once) so my hair looks great and is being wasted! Our kids had a tummy bug this week and now colds and teething blurg! So here I sit with awesome hair drinking coffee at almost 7:30 pm in my pjs becuase I know its gonna be another long night. Pitty party! And I don't even feel like drinking the bottle of wine we have because my thoat is soar and I think I'm getting a cold too :(
  • Ugh and apparently I can't type well on my phone. Sorry for all the typos!
  • Today was fun! I coached my club volleyball team to a first place finish!! DH is at a work event and I am hangin out with my parents and ds at my house.

  • I worked all day...Boo. DH is at the beach on a bachelor trip for his college buddy (hoping no one dies or goes to jail, ha). I'm jealous it's like 65 where he is, and in the teens here. My parents are in town to watch LO while I worked. It was nice coming home to my mama's cooking after work :)
  • Manders we took LO to IHOP when he was 3 month old.  They gave us crayons too...
  • I have not left the house today. DH took DD to her ballet and music classes (yes, she is indeed overbooked - the music is free so I couldn't say no) and I stayed home with LO. DH and I are kind of fighting, so that's pleasant.

@LolaX2‌ - that really sucks that you got your hair done and everything! Can you put the kids to bed and do a bit of a date night? Like a board game or something?
  • Sorry you ladies missed date night. My husband is driving me nuts tonight. I don't want to go anywhere with him.

    Mine too!

Crazy! I guess some people wouldn't think twice about it. But it surprises me that strangers would take someone else's milk. I guess they love the boob milk for their babies! I'm still producing enough for DD, but I suppose if I was producing extra, I'd consider giving it away. Not sure if I would take someone else's though. Have you ever donated to a milk bank?

I thought it was odd too at first, but the idea grew on me more. There are just so many extra benefits of breastmilk. I would accept milk from someone I knew though. I knew there was such a high need in my own area that I didn't consider a milk bank. But I would have if I couldn't find anyone who needed it!
