Body Lotion..??

Does anyone else use Bath + Body Works aromatherapy line? I just used some for the first time since finding out about babe, and now I am wondering if it was a bad idea? I used the Sleep lotion with lavender + vanilla.

Perhaps this is a crazy silly question!

Thanks!!

Re: Body Lotion..??

  • I use organic extra virgin coconut oil, absolutely no harmful chemicals, very good for your skin, and a jar lasts a long time because you need so little. My friend also uses it on her baby for dry skin and diaper rash. The stuff is amazing and you don't have to worry about it harming your body or baby.

  • I wouldn't use something so scented. Personally I would try and find something a bit more natural.
  • Usually bath and body stuff is full or parabens and other chemicals.
  • I use Bath and Body works sometimes, but the smell is too strong for me these days, so I've switched to cocoa butter and/or virgin coconut oil (which is the best ever!) Ask your doctor if you're concerned about the chemicals in your lotion, but I'm sure a little scented lotion is fine.

The issue I run into now is my skin doesn't like any scented lotion. Being pregnant can make you develop allergies to to things you weren't allergic to before. I used a hemp lotion every day before I got pregnant, used it once a few weeks ago and my skin broke out in a rash, and that lotion was "all Natural". I use the bath oils and sugar scrub from bath and body and my baby is doing just fine. There are way more harmful things you can do besides having to worry about the lotion you use.
  • Aveeno lotions. Best thing ever for sensitive skin!
  • @agiroir‌ I have been trying to figure out what I used on my skin that made me break out in a rash. I am usually not sensitive to anything, but apparently I used somethjng that didn't agree. My arms, sides, back, butt, thighs are going through a crazy allergic reaction. Other than not using all the products anymore what did you use/do to help it go away? I've stopped using any scented or harsh products and it isn't budging. I've been using an all natural aloe body wash and all natural aloe gel to soothe it for now as well as an all natural organic oatmeal bath. It helps keep it calm, but isn't healing. I would love any tips!! I'm going crazy! :)
  • Also my doctor said our skin can be very sensitive to products/allergens during pregnancy so I would definitely be careful for chemical filled and scented products. I'm learning my lesson now. I had no idea!
  • @cjagogo‌ if you've had a rash for more than a day or two id go to yiur doctor. My friend got a bad rash at the end of her pregnancy and the drs were worried and induced her. Not saying its that for you, but you just never know....
  • @cjagogo‌ I had to get benadryl cream to make mine go down. After I used the cream it was gone the next morning. And after that I just use regular gold bond lotion because my skin in SOO dry. Using the oils in my bath are helping to I find. Anything to not look like a crocodile!
  • If your body didn't have a negative reaction to it, then it's fine. It's safe.
