Swollen feet and legs

So my feet and legs have started to hurt and swell a bit during the day. I knew this would eventually happen but can anyone tell me ways to relieve this? I try and wear shoes as much as I can during the day and work in an office so I very seldom get up except to write on the board, get things from the printer or use the restroom. They aren't super swelled but they do hurt and are swollen slightly. Any advice?

  • Cut back on sodium, drink lots of water, elevate your feet any time you can

  • I need to go grocery shopping and get some fruits and veggies so I have something better to snack on rather than junk or ordering food for delivery at work. I try to order healthy foods like salads and things but that can be hard sometimes because our food choices are pretty limited. I also am really bad about Chinese and chicken. Those are my downfalls :(
  • Compression socks, They are wonderful! They will help your feet and legs hurt less at the end of the day
  • I second elevating your feet. Also, don't sit cross legged or sit on your feet at all. I was so used to sitting with a leg folded under me and I had to stop.

Stay hydrated and avoid salt as much as possible. Soak your feet and legs when you get home, but keeping your legs elevated really helps.

  • Along with the other suggestions, invest in a good pair of shoes! Getting new shoes, staying hydrated, and elevating my feet/legs whenever possible has really helped me!
  • I've been having the swollen feet too and now my hands, I know it's all normal and watch the sodium but I need some relief for my hands, they hurt!!?!?
  • I'm having the same problem with swelling in my feet, legs and hands. They don't hurt tho. Well, yet anyways! Pretty sure my problem is not staying hydrated enough because I'm dizzy with headaches too!
