Baby Names

I'm Torn...

I'm pregnant with my second daughter and I'm having such a hard time choosing her name! My first daughters name is Leah. So I want it to tie in nicely with her name as well.
We're stuck on:
Penelope Jane
Nora Jane (this would be just her first name, not sure of middle name. I just didn't want both of my daughters name to end in the same sound)
Eleanor Jane

What are your thoughts?! Thank you!!

Re: I'm Torn...

  • I like Nora Jane...not sure what would work nicely for a middle name that wouldn't be too much.

Penelope and Eleanor are both nice names as well, I just think they styles are so different from Leah

    Some suggestions

    Leah and Eden
    Leah and Abigail
    Leah and Eloise
    Leah and Audrey
    Leah and Noelle
    Leah and Charlotte
    Leah and Madeleine
    Leah and Grace
    Leah and Violet
    Leah and Annie

  • I think they're all great options, I'd pick Nora.
  • I love the name Nora. Leah and Nora are so different - I think it's okay they have similar sounds. It's not like Kaci and Kaydi or something. Eleanor and Penelope are great names too, so I don't think you can go wrong.

    Other suggestions...

Maisie, Sadie, Ruby, Julia, Meredith, Matilda, Elena

Penelope Jane is very pretty and my favorite from your list.

I like Nora Jane, but I don't really like the idea of having two names as a first name.  I think that it would get very confusing for your daughter on legal documents and cause lots of issues.  If you want to avoid having both daughters with names that end with the same sound, what about using Nora as the first name and Jane as the middle name and just calling her by both her first and middle?

Eleanor Jane is a fine name, but I am not personally a fan of Eleanor.

ETA: Another thought would be to name her Eleanor Jane and then to call her Nora Jane since Nora can be a nickname for Eleanor, I believe.
