Trisomy test negative and gender

Just so happy, I wanted to share. Not only did we get a negative on the trisomy test, but the nurse told us that we are having a baby girl!

Congratulations! We got our results back today as well, everything is perfect with the baby and its a BOY!!!!

That's awesome, congrats! I had the test done last week and they told me 10-14 days until I hear back, so I'm trying to be patient for another week!

Me too! Test last Friday and hoping for a speedy reply! Can't believe we get to find out the gender so quickly, it's nuts!

I am 11 wks and have a sono and bloodwork in 2 wks for down syndrome and genetic disorders. What test did you ladies have done to check the gender?

Tuesday is when I go for my trisomy test and 2nd u/s. I don't know if we will be finding out the gender with this appointment, but the sooner the better. I am doing my best to keep hubby from buying everything he can already. Once we know if we are having a boy or a girl, there will be no stopping him.

Did your dr/midwife suggest this test or did you specifically ask for it? My midwife wants to do a trisomy screen but it involves an ultrasound and a blood test, with no gender reveal. THEN if that comes back with any markers she'll do more testing. I think I'd rather have the free-cell DNA one that I think you ladies are talking about. Thoughts??

I'm having the cell free DNA test and ultrasound done in 3 weeks when I will be 12w. It'll test for chromosomal abnormalities and tell gender. I will get results in 10 days. I'm going to a genetics lab for the test as my dr at Northwestern doesn't offer it. My insurance doesn't cover it but dr suggested it as I will be 36 years old at delivery.

It's the cell free DNA screening that I did. I was suggested to do it because I'm 37.
