Saying Goodbye :(

Girls,

Unfortunately my US on Monday did not go well. I was 8.5 weeks and there was a gestational sac, a yolk sac, but no baby. My dr informed me that I am having a miscarriage called a blighted ovum. Everything progresses normally, even my hcg levels which were tested each week, but the baby doesn't develop. It has something to do with abnormal chromosomes 16 & 22. Luckily he informed me that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my body and these "blighted ovums" hardly ever repeat themselves. They are almost like a fluke accident he said. I am a disaster.. but it will not stop me from trying. I hope to be back in one of these forums very soon! I wish all of you luck and hope you all have happy and healthy babies in September! xoxo

Thank you all, this was my first pregnancy. It so hard to wrap my mind around things. But the past 8.5 weeks were the happiest weeks of my life. I know I am meant to be a mother and I will not give up!

Sorry for your loss:( I have seen a lot of ladies talking about this scenario, very sad and it sounds like you would have the normal symptoms of pregnancy. Very scary for those that haven't had an appt yet. Good luck to you!

I just went through the same thing. It was hard because it doesn't just happen over night, it's a process. But I feel fortunate to have gone through the miscarraige on my own with no complications. Luckily, like you said, it is very unlikely to ever happen again, and that gives us a lot of hope. It's actually very common. It's the cause of 50% of first-tri miscarriages. It's also very comforting to know that you are able to get pregnant. So with that being said, I see lots of babies in our future! Be strong, it will be ok ❤️
