Is throwing up more in the 2nd trimester common?

During my first trimester, I rarely, if ever, got sick. I was just super nauseous. I'm in week 13 and these last two weeks I've been sick almost every day. Either once in the morning, or once at night. About 30-60 minutes after I eat. I stopped taking my prenatal thinking that was the culprit. Turns out it's not. Is this common? Thoughts? Ideas? Remedies? I'm ginger-aled out and if I see another Saltine.... Just seems weird because everything I've read says just make it thru the first trimester and you should be okay. Thank you!

  • With my first, I was nauseous and puking nearly every day from two weeks pregnant to about 36 weeks pregnant. As you'll no doubt hear a million times on this board, every pregnancy is different.
  • Thank you both for the quick replies. I think you are both correct. Being my first, I'm probably reading too much into everything. Taylor, that makes sense to me. My stomach has been feeling like I've pulled muscles and I've been thinking it's everything growing and moving. And it does feel like everything is pushed up into my chest and throat. Guess I just have to live with it!  Thank you both!

  • I am 14 weeks 6 days. So technically just been in my 2nd tri for 6 days. I've thrown up 4 of those. I only threw up 4 times my whole first tri. :( it sucks.

  • I'm vomiting every morning and I'm 15 weeks . Maybe ask your dr. For medication.
  • I started to take diclegis some time around 13 weeks and I feel a lot better I'm currently 15 weeks 2 days.
  • I've noticed thus past week (14 weeks today) not really more nausea, just more severe, and more sudden. I will be fine, and then bam! My mouth is watering, I am shaking, and I am sure I am going to puke. Usually I take a nausea med and lay down. It passes but it's not fun
  • I'm also vomiting every morning at 15 weeks. I have to keep a bucket in my car just in case I have to barf on the way to class. Then I'm pretty much nauseated and fighting puking all day. I was not like this at all with my first pregnancy. Yuk!

  • Since about 6 weeks I've had morning sickness and started the Unisom & B6 regimen with my docs recommendation and it's helped. The only negative for me is that I may not be throwing up, but there is a feeling of queasiness all day, and if I don't get 9-10 hours of sleep it won't matter if I took the pills or not. I am at home currently, so that has been a HUGE help since I had serious food aversions (can't handle anything other than flavored or ice cold water, buttered noodles, plain salads with italian dressing and potatoes.) I am currently 16 weeks and still waiting to get that relief.

    BEST OF LUCK.
  • I've been throwing up my whole pregnancy I'm 14 weeks now, I've tried 2 diff meds to ease off the nausea. Nothings worked. With my first daughter I was sick till about 4/5 months. SORRY Some Of Us Aren't As Lucky!
  • I got sick once during first trimester but I'm now 16 wks 3 days and last week I started feeling nausea followed by a tugging pulling feeling in my lower stomach I felt sick all day after eating pizza then at night I got sick twice. The next day I was feeling better but the stretching was bugging my tummy and caused a few sharp pains I read that can be normal but I'm still nervous. I called doctor and they didn't seem concerned due to no bleeding or discharge. Does anyone have advice?
  • I've been feeling more nauseous in the morning, but I think it's because I have been more hungry, so I'm waking up hungry now as well,
  • I was not sick at all in the first trimester. Now at 15wks5days I am nauseous a lot of the time. I can hardly eat and feel the pulling too. I increase my fluid intake, lay down when I can, and take medicine. Feel better! You're not alone.
  • I have been vomiting since 6 weeks. I'm between 16-18 now (original date would make me 16 weeks but I'm measuring ahead). I take medicine every morning to make it through the day. The last day I didn't take it I threw up ten times. Sorry you're going through this, I wouldn't wish it upon anyone but hang it there!
  • Symptoms Start at week 11. I vomit after every meal i eat. I
